Bouncing, creaking, working, resting… that would be the answer if the question had been “Use four words to describe your week”! It’s been a right old mix, and I will explain, but before I do, I wanted you to know that I’ve really enjoyed catching up with you here on the blog, and I must thank you for all the suggestions as to the kind of car I should choose when I sell mine – if I ever get around to it! Something I won’t be selling, merely giving to you as a gift, is possibly one of THE biggest prizes I’ve ever had here on the blog, so bear with me and I’ll let you know what it is towards the bottom of the page.Last week I went to stay with Lucy and Honey, and as Friday is Lucy’s day off, she’d booked us into Toddler Bounce. I thought we’d just pop along and watch Honey bouncing around, but no, it was for adults too! I’ll admit to a mild sense of panic when told that I needed to purchase special socks to take part – not because I’m ashamed of my feet you understand – just because I don’t feel all that supple at the moment! I needn’t have worried because the purpose-built bouncing area was full of trampolines rather than the hard floors I’d been imagining, and very well set out.Honey loved it! She went haring off and it was all I could do to keep up with her! I spent a fair amount of time just sitting with her while she bounced, but then I just love being with her : ) Honey is so chatty and such a great companion, and reminds me very much of Lucy at the same age. Mentally, it takes years off me being with them, but physically on that day, I think I was possibly one of the more reserved bouncers, as along with my dodgy back and creaking knees I now have an ‘impinged shoulder’!Some of you had picked up on Twitter that I’d recently been for a nuclear bone scan, which I’m happy to tell you came back with no spread of cancer to my bones. The reason I’d been referred was because of pain in my right arm and shoulder, and so having seen a specialist and had an X-ray it transpires that I have major calcification of the bones there that has caused the tendons to adhere to them and twist. Very uncomfortable, and because I stupidly left it for several months before seeing my oncologist (fear that the cancer had come back…) it now requires surgery rather than just steroids of physio. Once I’ve had my MRI scan, I’ll know better what the timescale is. Hopefully though I won’t have to wait too long to have it sorted, but I’ll keep you in the loop.
So that’s the creaking and the bouncing sorted, which brings me to work! As always, it’s been pretty busy but a lot of fun over the last few weeks. Charlie Brook and I presented the three hour Diamonique Day finale last Tuesday and it was wonderful to have so many of you taking part on Twitter. I have to say that the buyers excelled in their choices, and all the new designs and brand new gemstones sold out.
We didn’t have any biscuits this time around but I had rolled my own flapjack bites to keep Charlie energised, and he loved them! We had a few requests for specific designs, plus more of the quirky pendants as the Fox and the Hedgehog sold out really quickly. If you love Unicorns then make sure you don’t miss my Tuesday shows at 8pm as I could have a surprise for you! Actually, if you tune in next Tuesday I’m afraid you won’t see me as Colin and I have decided to go back to Gozo and catch the last of the summer sunshine. We’ve booked a little apartment for a week, and I can’t wait to feel the sun on my poor old bones.
I’ll be back on Sunday the 24th when our TSV is the BeautyBio GloPro! Yes, it’s a new one on me too, but I have been given a sample to try and will let you know how this Microneedling Regeneration Tool works. The consumer study results are very impressive with 97% of those who used it saying they felt an improvement in their skin’s firmness, and 100% saying it helped to stimulate their skin’s natural collagen. Hopefully I’ll come back looker younger and plumper! : )
But now (fanfare please!) I am thrilled to tell you that I have the most beautiful, luxurious black pebble leather Amanda Wakeley Quinn Hobo handbag! (pictured above left) This handbag was our TSV on Tuesday and would now cost you £289 if you were to buy it directly from our website. It comes in a large white Amanda Wakeley monogrammed box, and has a signature canvas dust cover bag to keep it in.
All you need to do to be in with a chance of winning this much coveted prize is to choose the correct answer to the following question. I thought it was quite appropriate as London Fashion week starts today, Friday 15th September, but when did this event first begin?
Just post your answer in the comments below and make sure to leave an email address (don’t worry, this won’t be made public). The competition closes at noon on Tuesday the 26th September and and I will announce the winner on air on that evening during my Diamonique Show at 8pm. Full terms and conditions can be found here. Don’t miss out!
Finally, I just thought I’d post these last few photos of the changing seasons. I took the first one way back in May, and then the second just yesterday. Bring on the autumn I say : )
Take care and do keep in touch,
With my love,
