Blooming lovely!

Julia's garden with wisteria arch Hi there!

I can't believe I was off for the whole of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show week at QVC. I love gardening and the recent glorious weather has tempted me into my own garden for a bit of a tidy up. Thanks to the rain, sunshine and a liberal helping of Spray-n-Grow, my garden is positively rampant!

I was lucky enough to have our own Richard Jackson to advise me when we wanted to turn what was a Tarmac car parking area into the oasis it now is.

I had an idea of what I would like in there, and Richard walked round with me, telling me what would and wouldn't work in terms of size and available sun or shade. The main focus was to create a scented garden, so it's full of roses, Pink peony honeysuckle, jasmine, lavender, osmanthus, orange blossom and my favourites, pink peonies, which are just about to burst into flower.

One of the best bits of the garden is the wisteria arch. It's planted with a fragrant variety with smaller racemes of flowers than normal, and over the last six years I've trained it over the metal arch. This summer it's absolutely glorious, and such a pleasure to walk under and inhale deeply. The Desperate Housewives may live on Wisteria Lane, but I'm more than happy with my own wisteria arch!

I wonder if Richard Jackson has inspired your garden?

Must go now, I have hanging baskets to plant up!

Julia. xx.

Hi Julia, your garden looks beautiful, myself I dont there is anything lovlier than walking round your own garden and seeing what has come up and spread around each year it just gives us back so much more and seeing plants that have set seeds and poped up somewhere else is great. Ilike peonies and have just had the red ones all out but my beauty is one my sister bought for me called peaches and cream its not out yet but almost and it is a big pinky / peachy cup with cream centre really pretty, love all the old flowers like flowers with a perfume too, at the moment we have a lot of lilac coloured flowers and the bees and butterflies are just enjoying them, nature is wonderful with a little help from us and of course Flower Power it does make a BIG differance ,enjoy your garden and Summer best wishes Margaret.

Hi Sandra, I don’t really have aset routine for my hair, but I have been fairly loyal to Aveda on and off over the years. I also like to use Kiehls – their leave-in conditioner is very good particularly in the summer. Have you tried the new La Coupe range on QVC? – I have been using it for the last 2 weeks ( the ones in the orange bottles – sleek I think it’s called ) – very impressed. I also like to dry my hair with the Louise Galvin serum. Hope that helps?
Hello Margaret, I like the sound of the peaches and cream peony – is it fragranced? I have got some of the pink ones in a vase in the bedroom – gorgeous!! I have some of Richards Flower Power, but have been using up the rest of my Spray and Grow – I’ll let you know how I get on.

Hi Julia. always love the show, I was watching your presentation of Quackers products last night, i must say they are really gorgeaus.however midway through the show my husband Simon arrived in from work, and usually we have to battle for the tv changer as he has absolutely no interest in fashion at all, and he wanted to switch round to the football highlights ,i said give me 10 mins more as i was really enjoying your show, however after io mins i gave him the changer and lo and behold he said it was ok , lets watch this, i was dumbstruck , has a miracle happened? this is a 28 yr old man who would nearly walk around in his football gear for a week after a match, and now he wanted to watch fashion??? with england playing on the other chanell.i thought i was hearing things!!was i dreaming? all was revealed when i was taking delivery of a pizza i had ordered , i overheard Simon on his mobile talking to i presume was one of the lads saying” turn over to the qvc chanell quick theres a presenter on with a pair of legs to die for” Julia Roberts do you realise what you are doing to the men of this country, you are driving them crazy.Keep up the good work, your shows are brilliant

    Hello Patricia (and Simon)
I have only just seen your post – how funny, and what a compliment! Thing is, if I’d been in charge of the remote control, I’d have turned over to watch the footie.
There will be lots more Quacker in the run up to Christmas, and Jenny’s fun to work with.
So glad you enjoy my shows
much love (to you both!!!!! )
    Julia xx
