In 1996 Bliss ignited a revolution when its New York flagship spa put a fresh twist on the traditional spa experience with its sassy spirit and trusted formulas. Now there are 20 Bliss Spas worldwide and the brand continues to stay true to its trademark humour.
We caught up with their guest expert Katie Welch to find out what makes Bliss beauty so fresh and fabulous…
What makes Bliss different to existing brands on the market?
We’ve poured our skin-fixing, tension-fixing expertise into a line of seriously transformative products that make you look and feel ‘spa’-tacular. These pro-powered products are the same ones inspired, tested and used by our top-notch spa technicians every day.
Who's your target audience?
Anyone who wants that ‘spa’-tacular Bliss feeling, inside and out!
What are your three top products from the brand and why?
Lemon + Sage Body Butter
It’s our classic Bliss fragrance combined with the most unbelievable moisturiser! (There was actually a one year waiting list for this product when it launched in the US!). Lemon + Sage Body Butter is marvellously moisturising with the most fabulous fresh-citrus scent. This is used in almost all of our Bliss spa treatments. Lemon + Sage Body Butter is absolutely a must-have from Bliss.
Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Mask
Have you ever looked in the mirror and seen dull, dry, tired skin looking back at you? I have! That is why I’m in love with our Triple Oxygen Mask. It’s a remedy for tired, dull, skin – like an energy drink! It mimics our most famous facial treatment at Bliss: the Triple Oxygen Treatment. Ingredients in this mask will deliver oxygen to your skin to ‘wake’ up your skin and help keep breakouts at bay.
The Bliss ‘Pore’-fector gadget
This is our Bliss spa secret weapon! This tool uses cutting-edge sonic wave technology in order to ‘power purge your plugged pores’ – what’s not to love about that? As you glide this along damp skin, it gently jostles every single pore in order to help clear out the ‘gunk’. The days of torturing your pores are over!
How did you get into the world of skincare and cosmetics?
I started my career in skincare and cosmetics as an intern at a global fashion magazine in the nineties. I was enthralled with the hundreds of new products that would come to the beauty department every day. And, I was a total beauty and spa junkie as a kid; I used to give myself at-home facials as a teenager! But, I really fell in love with the industry when I started to work with beauty brands one on one. My first official job was in the PR department of a mega US beauty brand… and a million mascaras later… the rest is history!
