From blazing sunshine to howling gales!

For those of you on Twitter, you will know I claimed responsibility for the weather last week. It was clearly my fault as we went camping to the Isle of Wight. We arrived on Sunday evening just as the rain and wind came in, and we returned home on Thursday as the sun came out again… of course.

Ha ha, but saying that, when you go camping, you can’t let a puff of wind or drop of rain get in the way of having fun (yes I know they were howling gales and torrential rain, but let’s not let semantics get in the way!) and the great thing about going to the beach in the rain is that no one else is there and you can have loads of fun in the crashing waves and then warm up with a hot chocolate afterwards.

There was of course the odd break in bad weather and we enjoyed various places on the island with layers and waterproofs on standby!

Traditionally, we always find a crazy golf to play and these days, Beely is an absolute expert and once again thrashed us both.

We were even able to scoot our table outside the tent to eat one evening… I don’t think we finished the meal outside though, if I remember rightly within two minutes of taking this pic, we had to grab everything and head back under canvas!!

Finally however, just as we were ready to pull the tent down, the sun came out in all of its glory so we downed tools for ten mins and soaked up some rays!

Happy days as always, I do hope you are enjoying this summer, it definitely seems like we are having more sunny days than not.

Much love

Hi Susan, funnily enough yes, within 24 hours of being home I was aching head to toe and with a stinking cold ….I’m still sure there’s a bag of nails hanging around in the back of my throat somewhere! Sorry your weather has been not so good, I try to keep abreast of the entire UK weather as I know we are all so spread out ….clearly I’ve missed the bad bits …I hope this next week however brings you some improvement! xx

Hi Pipa, you seem to have had a fantastic time despite the weather which is what holidays are all about. I agree with you about the beach in the rain, I love to romp in the waves when it’s raining some how the water always seems warmer. Living at the coast to have the beach to your self is heaven.
    The pictures are lovely.
    Love Teresa xx
