So who is still feeling the aftermath of Easter? If I see one more chocolate bunny I might cry. I have no willpower when it comes to chocolate! We had a fantastic Easter weekend though, boy was it busy. It was Ivy’s 2nd birthday, Fred’s 46th birthday, one of our friend’s 40th’s and we also had my mother-in-law to stay too, so to say it was busy would be an understatement.
Ivy’s party was great though, we had an Easter egg hunt in the garden and a bouncy castle. The kids all loved it and Ivy had a blast. I don’t know where the last two years has gone though!!
On Sunday we headed back to one of our favourite restaurants, The Pig on the Beach over at Studland Dorset. That was our Easter Sunday/Fred’s Birthday celebratory lunch which as always didn’t disappoint, the food is fantastic. It’s a beautiful venue and the grounds look out at the most incredible views of the Jurassic coastline. If you are ever down that way it’s a must.
On Monday morning we had a bit of an attack on the garden. I won’t lie, I got a team of gardeners in a few days before to cut everything back, strim, chop and mow. It was too big a job for us on our own so I was so pleased to get that done.
However we’ve got an area at the top of our garden that just won’t grow grass, the ground is too dry and too covered so we decided to turn it into a bit of a children’s area. We turned it over, dug out the weeds and then lay down some sleepers and filled it with wood chips. I have a kids picnic/sand table on it’s way so I will show you some proper ‘Before’ and ‘Afters’ when it’s all done.
I have a box of Richard Jackson‘s gardening products to break open, particularly for the lawn, so again I will let you know how it’s all ‘growing’ in the coming weeks. In the afternoon we went to a friend’s 40th birthday party. Kids everywhere, homemade pizza in their outdoor pizza oven and a few glasses of Prosecco, the perfect end to the Bank Holiday!
At QVC it’s been an exciting week, Diamonique Day was a great success and you guys got yourself some amazing offers and beautiful pieces. Then at the weekend it was of course The Beauty Event, everything was on Easy Pay and it was buzzing. What a fun day to be a part of.
Along with the fantastic Today’s Special Value from Tarte I also got to bring the brilliant unicorn wand make-up brushes to air for the first time. These brushes are causing one heck of a buzz not just at QVC but all over social media too. Who wouldn’t want unicorn make-up brushes??!!
The picture of me with the brushes is also going to double up as my Outfit of the Week post. The Susan Graver bomber jacket got so many enquiries over my Twitter and Instagram. So if you didn’t see it, it’s by Susan Graver and it’s item number 163057. Snap it up before it’s gone!! Mine is the Cherry Blossom. If you like that then you can see more ‘Outfits of the Day’ from me on my Instagram.
Something that I’m really looking forward to this week is my hour with NIOD skincare. I already use some of their products including the Flavanone Mud which I’ve blogged about before. Now though I’ve been able to get really stuck into their range and I’m loving it.
They use the latest technology in skincare and boy do they get results. NIOD stands for Non Invasive Options in Dermal Science. My skin has been a bit up and down lately, mainly with dry patches. I think it’s partly down to season change but I’ve been trying to do everything to sort it out.
Since using NIOD this week it seems like I’ve finally got it under control. I think it’s particularly down to two products in this line. Firstly the Copper Amino Isolate Serum, this one will make you feel like a beauty scientist because you have to mix two ingredients when you first use it. What the Copper Amino delivers is hydration, which is clearly something that I need at the moment. The second product that stood out to me was the Hydration Vaccine, it’s balmy and beautiful and my skin feels like silk after I use it.
I could go on and on because I’ve been using the Cleanser, the Eye Concentrate, the Photography Fluid, which gives you the most incredible sheen finish, but I will save all of that for the show on Saturday night at 11pm with the lovely Nicola Kilner from NIOD who will take us through the range. I hope you can join us, I think you’re going to love it.
As for the coming month, I’ve got a busy and exciting one. I will be kicking off Jewellery Month with the grand opening on Monday 1st May at 8pm with a two-hour show. One of the big names will be the award-winning Anne Klein who takes classics and makes them fashionable.
I will then be bringing you a regular show every Friday at 6pm throughout May. Not only that, but I will have four giveaways right here on my blog, so you must make sure to check in each week. The first blog will be up next week so stop by to see the gorgeous Anne Klein necklace that you could win.
Until then, have a great week.
