I’m looking forward to seeing @THElaurageller in my show on Sunday at 1pm! More about next week’s deals with lots of sneaky peeks, below.
The ‘Bark’-side was strong this week at MDD Dogs Day Out!
Another weekend, another wonderful Medical Detection Dogs event! This time look who Quacker Factory guest and good pal Patrick Hoy and I met at Swanbourne – none other than the newest ‘Darth Vader’ – Daniel Naprous.
He and Gillian Wright from Eastenders were both at Dogs Day Out nr Milton Keynes to support the charity and have a super day out filled with lots of pooches! I met several QVC people who had come down having seen my blog, so hello to you if you came, it was lovely seeing so many – and so many MDD dogs and little trainees.
Patrick was wonderful with his MC’ing – here’s a little example – and well done everyone who took their pogs along – I was amazed at how well they were all behaving. More on the Facebook posts here on my page – (do ‘like’ it to get all updates as they happen), including this one (click here to see it – you don’t have to be on Facebook) which was actually live, and happened just when Gilly Wright, fellow ambassador for MDD, walked in!
You can find out more about this amazing charity where dogs help detect the signs of human disease here on their website. Or here on my charity tab on mine!
Telly Hubby takes fabulous pics! I know we’ve got a photography weekend coming up in the summer at Retreats for You, but check out my telly hubby Lee Hohbein’s pic near his house in London – talented! And watch out for another super day of products from Lee on QVC Easter Saturday, in the same hi-tech shows as the huge Samsung TV.
Sheena and me at The Plough In Torrington. Met lovely Sheena, from the WI, for a coffee this week – she’s helping me organise big charity concert in Devon in September. Do put Sept 16th in your diary if you fancy a weekend in Devon and a visit to a 40s/50s evening concert on the Saturday! Tea rooms in Sheepwash on the Sunday. More soon. It’ll be fun!
Debbie Does Pudding This week Wendy went on her hols and it was up to me to do dinner! Well, it turned out perfectly fine! Local sausages in red wine/onion/mustard gravy, garlic mash and veg, followed by this home made mousse – and no one died! Ya! Lol. I’m getting better I must admit – and the KitchenAid is now a permanent part of the kitchen worktops… I’ll get there!
No Vaping Sounds like ‘swiper no swiping’ – some weird verb that belongs in a sci fi movie – but here we are, the first sign I’ve seen officially banning fake-fags as well as real ones in New Inn, Sampford Courtenay. Should think so too! Lol.
My newsletter and website – what a massive change happened this week in the back garden at Retreats for You in Devon – go here to read more on my latest website update (and subscribe in order to get emailed the news to your inbox). Also book of the week is a new one from one of my top authors, Samantha Shannon – from the Bone Season series of futuristic novels. Read it on www.debbieflint.com .
Facebook Funny 1 – Gracie dog made me roll up this week – posing for the camera for at least a minute whilst I got a good shot! Lol. “If she was on Tinder, this would be her profile shot!” Hehe!
Facebook Funny 2 – hehe haha – it’s always me saying that – or more accurately – ‘have a nice day’! Lol!
Watch – new crush: Luke Evans, people. Beauty and the Beast star and confirmed Welshman, Luke, is excellent at singing and also comic genius as Gaston in the new real-life version of the classic Disney film, especially hilarious is his chemistry with adoring sidekick LeFou, played by Josh Gad. Here they are recreating it in an interview – funny!
I’m not sure if Luke reminds me of my ex-husband just a tiny bit – or I keep thinking of his role in Girl on the Train – either of which make him equally a bit creepy, but as Gaston he’s hilarious! Secondly, am really enjoying Broadchurch – if you haven’t got into it yet, do please watch it on catch up TV – it’s gripping. Finally altho’ I didn’t make it to the cinema this week, I’d love to see this film as soon as poss! I love Jake Gyllenhaal and Life, the new sci-fi extravaganza looks good!
This week on QVC –

Next week – my son Brad comes down to Devon for a flying visit! Can’t wait! And how will we get on in our first visit to the Sheepwash pub quiz on Sunday night – assuming I get there in time!
This week’s Freedom Eating testimonial is from Helen B!
“I got out from storage and tried on my black smart slacks on today and they are still a bit snug but I can now sit in comfort in them and touch my toes. My current black ones are a flowing 20 and they have been to several funerals, and 5 years of New Years and parties. I’m trying to dress in non black slacks. This is my goal to wear them and be on the loose side. I looked at the label and realised they are not an 18 but a size 16.”
