We’re so excited by this week’s 50 Hours of Fashion event. There will be two full days of the best QVC fashion, accessories and jewellery brands starting from midnight on Thursday 14th August and finishing 48 hours later on Saturday 15th August.
To kick off the event, Thursday’s line-up includes a two-hour fashion show hosted by our very own Julia Roberts, joined by fashion journalist and stylist Lesley Ebbetts. We caught up with Lesley when she came into QVC HQ to meet our amazing stylist Charlotte. They discussed looks for the show and Lesley talked us through her fave looks and told us more about what’s we should expect on the day.
“Rather wonderfully the QVC UK Catwalk Show returns this week (Thursday 6pm -8pm), when Julia and I are going to be revelling for two hours in some fabulous new Autumn ’15 shapes, colours, fabrics and accessories.
“It will be a feast of fashion from all your favourite designers highlighting a new modernity. Brand new clothes, in shapes that fit and flare, layer and accentuate a new fashion direction.
“Few things are easier to wear than graphically cut clothes – the architectural, clever cutting, now with a new elegant longer length, give a disguising softness to your figure and shape, whatever your size. So good fashion news for once!
“Although if ‘love to layer’ is your particular fashion mantra, this is the season for you. Julia and I will show you how these flowing sculptural shapes favour the gentle woman with soft layers. It is tailoring with a relaxed approach, often oversized where you need it and snug over parts of your figure you want to show off. At present you mix with tees but as the weather gets colder go for skinny ribs and favourite chunky knits.
“Autumn in QVC’s extensive fashion wardrobes is full of chic, classic simplicity so flattering they tame any ideas you might have of sustaining the bohemian wildness that summer fashion trends delivered – well at least until the festival season comes around again!
“This autumn’s accessories also accentuate a new easy elegance. The shoes and boots in our show are looking uptown, expensive yet not intimidating. Fashion forward yet comfortable. The new downtown boot shape punctuates the easy, flowing feel of the exciting, and returning, midi length.

“So for the QVC Catwalk Show Autumn ’15 it’s all about new things mixed fashionably with old favourites, moving you from this season to next quite effortlessly with easy layers and etched silhouettes accentuated with new colours, lengths and accessories. Careful, if you are anything like me, you may drool a little!”
Tune in at 6pm on Thursday 13th August to see Lesley on air.
