Hair hydration from Taya

Taya’s three-piece Buruti collection is fantastic if your hair is feeling frazzled, dry and weathered from both the winter weather as well as styling and colouring techniques, or is naturally dry because of the ageing process. This ancient recipe from the tree of life, and the Buruti nut helps to give instantaneous silkiness and moisture. It’s especially good if you have been piling on conditioners from other brands, but you can’t seem to get rid of the dryness.

Top tip: the first shampoo may not necessarily lather as it is sulfate-free but, don’t worry, the second lather will and you can feel a silkiness happening with this non-stripping shampoo.

Take this range with you to the hairdressers especially if you having a colour treatment as the shampoo and conditioner they use at the back wash can strip out some of the colour and does not give enough moisture to the cuticle which results in your hair feeling dry for a few weeks after colour, especially after high lift tints or highlights.

This will give instant condition and shine that even your hairdresser will comment on.

Skin innovation from LAB Pro

The LAB Pro Lift + Anti-Ageing Complete Skin Care System is a multi-faceted electrical machine that was designed by two sisters to give customers at home the same salon effects that these famous electrical treatments do for many pro brands that specialise in galvanic and light therapy.

This is a tool that allows you to be your own facialist at home with, and give yourself different intensive courses for different types of results to add to your skincare brands, however it doesn’t replace a great quality AM and PM regime – that is essential, but it adds more anti-ageing, lifting and smoothing results aiding the look of pores, lines and texture depending on which programme you use.

It is best to concentrate on one programme and use it for two skin cycles (two months), then switch to another programme for another two months and continue throughout the year. This would allow you to see which has the most benefit on your skin and will allow you to give yourself customised facials for years to come.

Jay Manuel is back!

Jay and his fantastic beauty range is coming to the Beauty Insider show with some new colour launches, and he always shares such a fascinating insight into his fashion philosophy.

The range has a global following through social media and TV, and I especially love the new lip colours he is launching this visit, which would be a really easy way to modernise your look.

Exfoliation with Alpha-H

The Alpha-H Liquid Gold Resurfacing Body Cloths Duo are a really quick and modern way of tackling exfoliation by using a body peeling technique that doesn’t even require a shower. This would be brilliant to wipe daily over skin roughened or coarsened areas, especially areas like the back of the arms and backs of thighs where you can get a dry, rashy texture but also brilliant over classic dry skin places such as knees, elbows, hands and feet.

It would also be effective on any body areas of congestion or blackheads such as chests and backs.  A handy tip would be to use on an area that goes wrong with self tan and would be great to keep for emergencies for this reason to wipe away self tan mistakes. If you do have a stubborn area that never seems to take self-tan easily with tanning season approaching, these are quick and easy enough to massage daily over that area for a couple of days before self-tan or spray tan application to give you a celeb smooth tan finish.

Great Today’s Special Value offers this week:

Get glowing with Bareminerals

This fantastic Bareminerals kit features a supersize of the original foundation, which by the way, if you travel or go on holiday, doesn’t count as a liquid and is fantastic at home and abroad on sensitive skin because of its free-from formula, so I definitely recommend it and its my first choice for allergy or spot prone skin.

It’s lovely to have this classic combined with some of the newer formulas to give us a modern look this spring/summer such as the Glow Powder Highlighter to get a lift from within, a new Radiant Nude Lipstick in a pinky/brown which has a mango, cocoa and shea butter base for creamy softness.

One of the best anti-ageing tips for the eyes is the BB Cream Eye Shadow which on an older eye, gives the look of young skin and on a younger eye, gives an airbrushed, nude modern finish and of course, to complete the look a Hush Pink Blusher and the famous foundation brush.

As a complete look, fresh, soft and daytime ready – even for the non-makeup wearer. For those that love more artistry, then this naked look is a must to master as shown in London Fashion Week recently and you can add more shape and form with liners, mascaras, brow products etc.

A skincare boost from Beauty Bioscience

I was recently talking to a very big magazine with a journalist who’s favourite ingredient was retinol, which this is a specialist in. It is one of the few retinol formulas that my sensitive skin is able to use, for two reasons – one it uses something called titration, which gives you three different doses that escalate in concentration of combined vitamin A and peptides which allows your skin to acclimatise to the ingredient while seeing results.

Plus the vitamin A itself is encapsulated so it doesn’t give the normal problem of sensitivity on the surface, as it’s not released until the absorption has hit the lower layers where you want this clinically proven anti-ageing ingredient to act. The great thing about this is that retinol is globally accepted as a major anti-ageing ingredient, yet many brands get this ingredient wrong.

But, with Beauty Bioscience it comes directly from the lab in America who are experts in retinol and this lab creates both the medical prescription available as well as, in this case, the beauty formula so that you can trust this brand’s reputation.

It’s easy to use as a booster as you use it for a six week course and you can go back to your existing brand.  The kit also, this time, gives you the serum and moisturising cream which you can continue to use to see results as well, even after the six week course. By the way, this kit – you will only use half of it to see maximum results and then you can put the serums away and use later in the year, perhaps after the summer, to use for a retinol boost again.

There’s plenty more beauty goodness to be found at 8pm this evening, so tune into QVC Live to enjoy a show jam-packed with the best products, experts and brands, so you can give your collection a fabulous update. Have just received the Beauty Bioscience package and I am really excited about using it and seeing results. I have dehydrated sensitive skin and have purchased anti-ageing products for the last 20 years or so (am in my early sixties with very good skin). However, reading the instructions for this product, it recommends NOT using other anti ageing products during the 6 week period. This has totally thrown me now as I’m unsure what to be using as a gentle cleanser and moisturiser during this time. I’m a huge fan of Elemis Collagen Cleansing Balm, Alpha H Balancing Cleanser and Judith Williams products (usually her anti-ageing serums and creams) – all in the anti-ageing product ranges! Any recommendations as to which non anti-ageing cleansers and moisturisers would be suitable during this 6 week period would be much appreciated.
