Beauty, backs and London fun!

Hi there!

Hope you are well and staying cheerful despite the fact we seem to have plummeted back into winter – what’s happening with this weather?!

Anyway, that aside, I have had a great couple of weeks and wanted to share what I have been up to. As always, post a comment below as I would love to know your news too.

A real highlight was attending the CEW Beauty Awards with Alison Young and the beauty buyers from QVC. Such a joy to see so much great innovation from British brands and so proud that so many brands we showcase on QVC did so well!  My favourite pics are the selfie with Tracy, one of the brilliant beauty buyers, and the one with Laura from marketing – we look like movie stars smiling at paparazzi, haha!

As well as immersing myself in the world of beauty I have also been trying out Kyrobak, a device that massages your lower spine to either alleviate a sore, ache or stressed back, or just to encourage flexibility and keep your back healthy.  It’s so simple to use and I have had back problems over the last couple of years and still see a chiropractor. I am not saying this device will replace those sessions completely, but I am hoping I may be able to go and have treatments less regularly; it will save a fortune in the long run! I noticed there are all 5* reviews online, so if like me you have either suffered with your back or you just get tension after driving, sitting at a desk, carrying and the like, then it’s definitely worth trying Kyrobak. I think I am even falling asleep on mine – it’s so relaxing!

In other news I have been out and about and loving London as I always do. Highlights have been visiting Malty Street food market with my friend Javed where we ate our way round the various stalls. And a visit to the Sky Garden at 20 Fenchurch Street (otherwise known as the Walkie Talkie building) – it was amazing to be surrounded by tropical plans whilst looking over London from such a height. What an experience! You must go if you are ever in London!

Finally, here are my top three beauty picks for this week:

  1. Philosophy‘s Hope in a Jar – strictly speaking it’s two products as I am trying the day and night cream, but I know you won’t mind me putting it as one! I’ve only been doing the routine a few days now and my skin looks so lovely and bright. I think it pays to have bespoke day and night treatments.
  2. Margaret Dabbs’ Foot Hygiene Cream – OMG, this is a miracle product!! My feet look different and I have only been using it three days! My feet are feeling softer, smoother and the cracked skin I had between my toes has been reduced. My toenails look brighter too! I see what Margaret means when she says this is a product for people who hate their feet – I’m sure you won’t after using this! I am off to Ibiza soon, so will now wear my Birkenstock with pride!
  3. Penhaligon’s Juniper Sling – brown sugar, black cherry, leather, black pepper, juniper berry and cinnamon in a fragrance – it’s addictive and I feel SO good when I wear it!

Hi Craig! Loved your blog! I might have to invest in Kyrobak as it looks good and I suffer quite badly from back pain.

Love the top of the walkie talkie building! Never imagine it to look like that!

Look forward to your next blog.

    Take care. Ellie xx
