Last week we launched the sought-after bareMinerals READY Foundation and I thought I'd provide some extra information on how to choose the perfect shade.
Their compact formula gives you a much more formal, glamorous feel. For those days when you prefer a more natural or lighter coverage it's great to have your bareMinerals Original foundation to hand.
Here's a little guide to help you choose the right shade for your skin tone based on what you have bought from the Original Foundation range…
Normally buy Fair?
Opt for the Light 150
Normally buy Fairly Light?
Light 170 or Medium 250 are the closest matches. Light 170 is the lighter of the two. Medium 250 is slightly warmer than the Original bareMinerals Fairly Light shade.
Normally buy Medium?
Opt for Medium 250.
Normally buy Light?
Go for Medium 250 or Medium 270. Medium 250 will suit those with more neutral undertones. Medium 270 will be better for those with sallow or yellow undertones.
Normally buy Medium Beige?
Medium 250 or Tan 310 are best for you. Medium 250 is slightly paler than the Original Medium Beige foundation. Tan 310 (Catherine Huntley and Debbie Greenwood) has warmer undertones.
Normally buy Medium Tan?
Tan 310 or Tan 330 are the best options. Tan 310 has cool undertones. Tan 330 (Pipa and Alison Keenan) has warmer undertones.
Normally buy Tan?
Go for Tan 350, this would be Jennifer Lopez's shade.
Normally buy Medium Dark?
Opt for Dark 450 or Deep 530. Dark 450 (Halle Berry) has golden red undertones. The Deep 530 (Rhianna) will be great for those with pure cool blue undertones.
We don't currently have shades in the bareMinerals Ready Foundation range that are suitable for blue/red African Carribean skin tones. If this is you it's best to stick with the Original or Matte bareMinerals foundations. However watch this space – I'm told by bareMinerals there are some fab new shades coming soon!
