Back for 2014!

19 for lunchHello!

Is it too late to wish you a Happy New Year!

I hope not – I've only just come up for air after a week of cooking, celebrating and general festivities over Christmas, a busy week of work at QVC over New Year and then, last week, time spent coughing at home with a chest infection.

Everything is back to normal now, however, and we're only halfway through January and I am already noticing that the days are becoming slightly longer, if not drier! Wow, how it has rained over the last week or so – I hope you have stayed out of water.

I've added a couple of photos of my family Christmas. It was quite a large affair with 19 of us sitting around our kitchen table, which we extended using a piece of MDF cut-to-shape on top of a couple of garden tables.

Aunty Barbara's birthdayMy main worry was 'will there be enough to eat?' But with the help of two turduckens ordered from Green Seasons - there was ample. The meat (turkey stuffed with duck and chicken) was delicious, everything came together, and we had a wonderful few hours enjoying our meal.

After devouring the Christmas pudding and croquembouche (a pyramid of chocolate profiteroles, created by budding chef and son Charlie) we continued with birthday cake made by Bex in honour of my Aunty Barbara, who turned 91 years old on Christmas Day itself. All in all, a great day!

I hope you enjoyed some time with the people who make your life special, and have started 2014 with verve and vigour. All the best to you!

    Hi Kathy
Glad you had a lovely get together. That’s a lot of people to feed!
You looked great this morning in your choice of Christopher Fink clothes. Really like them but aiming to lose some weight so alas back to the diet!
    Best wishes,
    Irene X

    Hi Kathy,
No, it’s not too late and I wish you a very Happy New Year too! 19 people is a lot and so glad you had a great time. I bet your Aunty Barbara really appreciated the Birthday cake too! My partner’s cousin Michael is a Christmas Day Birthday too and he really was the highlight of our Christmas Day – he’s funny and great fun to be with.
You take care, all the best for the coming year and it’s great to have you on our screens, you have a natural warmth and a great sense of humour,
    Beth XX.

    Hi Kathy
I not been in touch since the Fashion event when i met you and David and I had such a lovely day and then went on to celebrate our Ruby wedding which was very special.. Wore my Nina Leonard dress for the actual day in Jersey 15th September and then my Tiana B dress for a blessing and celebration at our church with all our family and friends with us..
Looking at your photos at Christmas reminded me of our Christmas and family and friens again… Some sadly not with us this year but we always give thanks and mention them.. We too had a piece of MDF to extend the table, works a treat and emergency chairs!!! We went to our younger sons and he did the lions share of cooking and i took my special puddings without sugar and we all took something to share which was special.. Like Charlie doing his showstopper!!!
Unfortunately, I stepped back taking a photo of my grandson Ben who was sat on the bottom stair wearing a head lamp, playing his ukelele !!! camera moment, definitely, as I stood back, my foot caught in the christmas tree and the lot came crashing down with me flat on my back!!! no one was videoing or it would have been one for Youve been framed.. Anyway, just badly bruised and a few seuins missing off my dress… So considered myself having been divinely caught…
lots of love and Many happy returns to your lovely aunty Barbara, on a very special day.. she looked thrilled.. Aw,
Glad you feeling better Kathy, thought I d not seen you, hope your holiday has done you good..!!
Take care now and build yourself up after looking after everyone else,
With love yo you and your lovely family
    Christine xxxx
