It's been a while since my last blog, and I hope this one finds you all well and rested. Since my last blog I've flown into Barcelona twice having never been before.
First time was a final Dad/son bonding Rugby Tour with Jack. This is his last season playing junior rugby as next season he starts playing senior. His team had a very successful last season together, remaining unbeaten and scoring bonus points in all matches played in their league.
We flew into Barcelona, then travelled by coach to the well known 'Summer Clubbing' resort of Lloret de Mar! Quite an eye opener after dark!
For the matches, we travelled north into France and played two days running against French teams in stunning snow capped Pyrenean surroundings – as you can see!
The boys played very well, drawing the first match and winning their second. Quite a feat, considering some had been still partying only a few hours earlier. I'm pleased to say that there was no trouble whatsoever and the boys made a lot of friends in both Spain and France in the traditional rugby way.
I returned home to sleep for a solid 24 hours! I spent pretty much the rest of my break carving into a very tall hedge at the front of our house to make way for a parking space for the kids' car – I'd let this hedge get way to big over the years and was shocked to see just how much land I managed to reclaim.
It was fabulous weather that week and whilst working in the garden I made sure that I was coated in a generous layer of Ultrasun Sports SPF 20 – and I gained a light golden tan without burning at all!
On Good Friday, Tracey and I went on a trip to The Far East – Yes! Essex! – to one of Tracey's oldest friend's wedding. We had a wonderful time and the happy couple, Carol and Ken, looked fabulous. Particularly when they had the first dance and wowed their guests with a routine straight out of Strictly! They must have practised for hours beforehand and it paid off! Niiice! They're my favourites!!
I was back in for the Easter Saturday and Sunday and, although I am working at The Q, will not actually appear on-air again until this coming Friday.
Why's that Dale ?
Kathy Tayler flew to Dubai to board the magnificent Cunard Queen Elizabeth with a QVC film crew and I flew back to Barcelona to board the luxurious P&O Azura.
Due to time constraints, I had to disembark via tender the following day at Cannes, in the South of France, and fly back to the UK via Nice, but it gave me a first-hand experience of what's in store for our customers.
In just one day I experienced the many attractions on board including: a wonderful Elemis massage, a stand up comedy show, watching a really polished dance show in the impressive theatre, and still had time to watch an hour of a recent Hollywood movie on the Azura's al-fresco Sea Screen – whilst lying on a sun bed! Can't be bad eh?
Although the packages on offer will not feature the Azura itself, we will be offering packages with her sister ship, The Ventura, along with many other stunning ships such as the Queen Mary II and the Royal Princess. They'll take you around the globe on wonderful, inspiring cruises.
I met met quite a few QVC customers on-board who were all really keen to
A) Know why I was there
B) Talk about their own experiences and tell me why they loved cruises
I'll be presenting the shows with a lovely guest from Imagine Cruising, Sabrina Badhan, to explain exactly what's on offer. We'll also be seeing glamorous footage from life on board a cruise ship with Kathy throughout the shows.
Whether you are a seasoned cruise devotee or considering your first Voyage – I hope you can join me for the first show on the 6th of May at 4pm to learn more about Imagine Cruising's tailored packages for QVC Customers at great prices, with added value and, of course, to stunning destinations.
Why not make that dream a reality?
I've never taken a good 'selfie' but here's a couple I managed whilst on-board and a Mediterranean Sunset from the 6th Deck.
'Till next time, stay safe and well
