PRAI Supersize Ageless Throat & Decolletage Creme - 203662

August’s Beauty Pick of the Month…

The throat area is a very delicate area that can show the signs of ageing. The reason for this is that, unlike the face, it doesn’t have a large amount of oil glands, but it does have the same fine-textured skin that stretches and drags and gets sun-damaged very easily.

Unlike the body it doesn’t have thicker, coarser-textured skin, but it does have the weight-bearing structures of the bust area, and gravity can cause it to slacken and pull down. You can often find with the neck area that it can actually affect the shape of the face, slackening the sides of the cheekbones, creating a softer jawline appearance or a double chin, as well as giving you both horizontal and vertical lines along the sides of the neck, and in front of the neck near the voicebox. You can also experience creping, deeper lines and deeper sun-damaged areas down going towards the cleavage area.

The benefit of PRAI’s Ageless Throat & Decolletage Creme is firstly in the supersize. Neck products these days, in order to get the results we expect in 2014, need to be applied in recognition of the way we live in 2014. Years ago, your lower neck was never exposed except for maybe on holiday, and we always wore buttoned up shirts and blouses and jackets. Nowadays, many of us spend the whole of the summer in strappy or strapless tops, which expose the whole of the neck and decollate, across the span of the shoulders and the back of the neck – all which causes significantly more ageing on the neck area than many of us experienced years ago.

So it’s perfect to get the Ageless Throat in this supersize at this time of year because, if you’ve been wearing T-shirts or strappy tops with the hot summer we’ve had, you can put back some of that lost moisture and add extra anti-ageing ingredients.

My top tip is to use it on everywhere that’s been exposed, not just the neck

So if you’ve had a strapless top on (or even better, nothing at all!) take it over the whole of the bust area, right the way across the fan of tissue across the decollate, right the way around the top of the shoulders to the back of your neck and your hands meet. And, of course, all the way up the neck itself, up to and over the jawline where you can get that soften structure along the bone area.

If you want quick results because you have a troublesome neck area and you’ve not used many products before, use it twice a day. It is potent enough to be used just once a day, so if you’ve got younger skin or you’ve often used neck products before, you can get away with using it once a day to keep the neck in good condition. But if you’ve not used a neck product regularly before, or you’ve had a lot of sun exposure, then really at least I would say use it twice a day for the first 30 days to really see instant results.

Another top tip when you’re using this (or in fact any other neck product) is please exfoliate! The neck is often left out on exfoliation of the face, and you often forget about it during exfoliation of the body. But in actual fact, you should exfoliate the neck and decollate whenever you exfoliate the face OR the body.

This should mean you’re exfoliating it twice as much as any other part of the body – try to do three or four exfoliations per week, especially during the first month of applying the product, and continue to keep this area exfoliated.

That helps to lessen the thickness, density or coarseness of any sun damage and any wrinkling, and then the Ageless Throat with an amazing peptide formula, the skin firming and lifting ingredients that it has to improve the look of the neck, can actually get to work in a deeper way because it gets absorbed by the newer skin cells, rather than absorbed by old skin cells that are about to slough off.

Hi Alison – love QVC and all the beauty advise but would be very useful if you could provide ingredient list for all products (as they do on QVC USA). Unfortunately using Ultrasun has made my skin very sensitive and I’m allergic to some ingredients so this info would be helpful.

    Hi Alison,
Have you ever thought of doing a QVC beauty box once a month with sample sizes, with maybe 5 to 6 items per box so people can test drive products before buying the full sizes, as some people may find it hard to pay out the full amount at once i know i do.
    Regards,
    Katrina xx

Hi Alison I have just returned from 10 days in hot and sunny Portugal…this is the first ‘sun’ holiday we have had in two years as we normally do city holidays. I took Ultrasun SPF 20 sports gel and since Easter have been using Gatineau tan accelerator twice a day. I had to tell you that I have come back with best colour I have had in a long time…I also decantered my Elemis products and my face has stayed soft and radiant….so all those skeptics out there it has definitely worked for me. Thank you Ali for the advice given for these products.
