Welcome to QVC Fashion Month week three! This week’s focus is on effortlessly stylish, contemporary cover-ups. Think clever layering this season, instead of just thinking about a simple coat or jacket, think outside the box too – get cosy in faux-fur, be cool in a kimono and experience the versatility of shawls, capes and ponchos. Head over to The Style List pages to find out more and read on to discover the pieces our buyers love best..

Inspired style: Team pieces in similar tones, who says blue and green should never be seen?

We asked our fashion buyers for their expertise on all things outerwear and to hand-pick just a couple of their favourite pieces to inspire you to kick your style status up a notch – here’s what they suggested.

Sharon Baker – Associate buyer on fashion casuals
This is the must-have cover up from Nina Leonard. The clean lines and easy silhouette make this jacket one of the go-to pieces for the coming season. I love the beautiful drape front, matching tie belt and dipped hem. A timeless addition to any wardrobe in black, ideal to wear with jeans or leggings teamed with ankle boots for a polished and relaxed look.

Emma Bertorelli – Buyer on fashion classics
This fabulous cover-up from Join Clothes is perfect for those transitional months and will soon become a staple in my autumn wardrobe. Its simple lines complement my printed jumpsuits during the week but look just as good teamed with a pair of harem crops and a vest at the weekend. The thing I love most of all is how soft the jersey feels on my skin; it’s comfort without sacrificing on style!

Rachael Biggs – Associate buyer on fashion casuals
This MarlaWynne full length jersey duster is just perfect for the transitional season we are currently in. It’s the perfect weight to wear now as it gives you that coverage but is not heavy or bulky. It’s not easy to find a duster which is actually full length which is why I love this one – it makes it just that bit more sophisticated and smarter than any other plain jersey cardigans. And because it’s plain it just goes with so much and it really adds that finishing touch to my outfits.

I also absolutely love this dot jacket from MarlaWynne. It is so easy to simply throw on over jeans and a T-shirt, and looks equally great over a dress for an evening look. Another thing I love about this jacket and actually all of the MarlaWynne range is how ageless it is. I would wear this quite casually but I know my mum would also love it too by wearing it a bit differently to me – maybe with some smart trousers and she’d look just as fabulous!

Pav Perhar – Assistant buyer on fashion intimates and outerwear
This gorgeous longline waistcoat from Helene Berman is the perfect cover up for the autumn/winter season, it’s great for dressing up, down and layering. This versatile piece will see you through work, weekend and whenever. There’s a choice of three beautiful colours Cream, Navy and Bottle Green and it features a contemporary zip detail and pocket flaps which elevates the style. Team with a crisp shirt or a roll-neck top to complete your stylish daytime looks.

Katie Powell, our resident trend expert on QVC Style talks us through some of her favourite outerwear pieces and how to coordinate an entire look, ensuring you look both warm and stylish this season.

Love the pale blue waistcoat that’s in 3rd photo (and used in the cover pic of this section on the website). But I can’t find it for sale on your fashion pages; who is the designer and is it available from you now or soon?

I also would like to know who’s make is the blue waistcoat, on your pictures showing Autumn fashion. Also on your 3rd photo, as another customer has also asked?
