Augmented reality…… for kids?

If you have ever watched the Matrix or any Sci-Fi movies, you will have probably seen some representation of augmented reality:

Augmented reality (AR) is a live direct or indirect view of a physical, real-world environment whose elements are augmented (or supplemented) by computer-generated sensory input such as sound, video, graphics or GPS data”.

Yeah, I had no idea what they were talking about…. until this.

I was given a sample of some stickers for the kids to try out and was told that with a free app, they could be brought to life.  I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I certainly never expected them to be this good!

I thought about trying to explain it to you but I am neither clever or eloquent enough, so I thought a video to show you would be better.  They are called Mardles, and the free app, which runs on Apple and Android is called AliveLab.

I believe James Murden will introduce this idea to you on Friday 24th July as we – I know its hard to believe – start our countdown to Christmas!!

The kids really loved it and i think it could be THE unique gift for grandkids, nieces and nephews this Christmas!

All the best,
