Art, Beauty & Yankee Candle News!!

23

Hi there, hope you are well and had a great weekend?

All good with me and had a great week last week of which the highlight was going to see the Paul Smith exhibition in London. It was held at the Design Museum just by the Thames, I hadn't been there since we filmed a piece during the finals of the QVC Search for a Presenter when I was there with the other finalists Sam & Ben, so as you can imagine there are some great memories.

The exhibition was really interesting and among other things there was the Mini Cooper designed by Paul Smith, and in the other part of the museum the first ever vacuum designed by James Dyson, which he sold to a Japanese company to raise money to make DC01!! I was there with a special friend so it made the afternoon even more amazing.

Now gearing up for a great week, it's the Beauty Bash on Wednesday which I am mega excited about and will of course post some photos next week. Talking of Beauty, I have another show with the lovely Cathy Kangas from PRAI Beauty on Thursday at 8pm. I loved my last show with her as part of QVC Cares and before the show I gave myself a little PRAI facial and look at the difference it made to my skin. In the after photo I have no make-up on but look how much brighter and awake I look – it is skincare that really delivers!

Finally – I have good news for you Yankee Candle fans! If you liked the new fragrances that were recently launched in the TSV and you want large jar candles in these fragrances on Auto Delivery, stay posted and I will tell you more next week so you can be the first to order as you can bet they won't be around for long! I'll keep you posted!

ScruncherYou may have noticed on Twitter that my friend and colleague Jill Franks has lost her beloved Bulldog "Scruncher". He literally vanished into the night whilst he was being walked along a towpath last Thursday evening (17/01) in Windsor, Berkshire.

It's believed he has been taken by persons unknown so if you live in or around the Windsor/Slough area. please keep a look out for him. Poor Jill and her hubby Larry are devastated and desperately want him back, and you never know? Someone out there might have seen him or noticed someone with a new dog matching his description?

In the meantime have a great week and speak soon, do post any comments or questions below, remember I reply to them all.

Much love,

Craig xx

Hiya Craig – Bammie here – I had a ticket to the beauty bash but unfortunately won’t be able to make it – as recovering from a minor OP last week, but I’ll be thinking of you all – please would you say hi to Andrew and Michaela for me? I attended their amazing Gatineau master class in 2010 and Michaela kindly gave me a pink headband I’d been asking for. I love Prais hand treatment cream too – really rich and plumping – thanks and best wishes to Cathy ! Have a great, happy week x

Thanks for the Yankee reminder…well not reminder to purchase, but reminder as in ‘Yankee’! I need to remove a tart from my electric melter and pop in another….alternatively just open the TSV hamper and inhale!!
A useful tip with the melted tart when the fragrance has gone is to save it once hardened. When melting another tart, remove it once hardened yet still smelly and cut some off both bits – melt together and the new fragrance lasts longer and isn’t as strong for a small room…oh and nothing gets wasted:)
Now to select a new fragrance…I could be a while:)

    Hi Craig,
I watched QVC’s search for a presenter with great interest and at the time, your personality and professionalism was noticeable. So glad Julia knew you were right for QVC!
Can I say your skin looks great – I think Cathy from Prai is great too.
Like you, just wishing and hoping that Scruncher is found safe and well soon – I can’t imagine how Jill and her hubby must be feeling at the moment.
All the best and keep up the good work – you’re a natural!
    Beth XX.

Hi Craig. So lovely to have met you at the Beauty Bash. We had a little chat about our Mutual love of Yankee Candles. I told you how much I enjoy your Yankee shows (especially with Rosa) and you told my sister Marie off as she keeps stealing my candles whenever she visits. Really pleased that the TSV are going to be available in the large jars-some more to add to the collection eh?
Really hope Scruncher is found safe soon. My heart goes out to Jill and her husband. Pippa’s dog was stolen a while ago and she got him back 6 months later so they should never give up hope.
Finally, a big thank you to QVC for the great time my Sister and I had at the Beauty Bash. Great meeting the other presenters, brand ambassadors, models and fellow QVC fans. Everyone was so friendly and the goody bag was amazing.
All the best- Love Tracy xx

Hi Craig, I was residing in the UK at the time when you became the successful contestant as a Presenter on QVC. I have since relocated to Canada and really miss watching your segments. You are lively, professional and passionate about the products. I now read your blogs and am a follower on twitter.

    Hi Craig,
Looking good on the PS exhibition photo Craig, especially as you were with a ‘special friend’.
I really hope Jill gets her baby boy back! It’s scary the way people will steel anything including a pet dog! I truly hope Scruncher is returned unharmed ASAP. I’m a true dog lover and I can’t imagine anything like that happening to us, they’re like our children aren’t they! So sending love and very best wishes Jill’s way.
That Mini looks fab in the PS signature print. Do you wear the fragrance? Interesting story about the first Dyson too. I didn’t realise what it was at first and then I thought it was something to do with chocolate – you can see where my head is at!
I haven’t tried The Prai range yet, but your skin certainly looks lots brighter in the pic, I put it down to different lighting but if it isn’t, it’s amazing! I’m a loyal Liz Earle addict and given I’ve got sensitive skin and LE works really well for me, I’d be a bit wary of trying other products on my face. Have you been able to preview the new LE body range? It looks lovely and sounds amazing reading the ingredients listings and the fragrances. I hope it’s not too expensive as I’d like to try it. I wonder if the new body range will be filling the Molton Brown void?
Craig are you aware if QVC are planning to review the delivery charge at any time in the near future. Only for me it’s the one aspect that lets the ‘QVC experience’ down. Previously, there were only a few dominating online sites where you could make purchases and these were no real threat to QVC in terms of true competition. However nowadays, a vast majority of ranges and products are also sold on very familiar, ‘household name’ store websites and very often there is only a few pence difference in the price; but when the QVC p & p is added on, it works out more expensive. I think that’s further compounded by QVC charging p & p per item. Lots of sites, either don’t charge postage/delivery, or they have promotions for free delivery if orders are over a certain amount. The ones that do charge p & p, tend to charge one fixed amount for the entire order, which seems more reasonable. I hope you don’t mind me asking you. I was hoping you could pass this on to the powers that be please. Thanks.
As part of my christmas pressie, my son bought me a beautifully scented reed diffuser from the Molton Brown store. I’ve not fancied them before and I’m usually a candle addict and I particularly love the wax melts because the smell seems a bit more instant and stronger and because you can mix it up and change it around to your liking. So I’m now on the look out for any fab reed diffusers from Yankee – any suggestions gratefully received! :)
Best wishes Craig, look forward to seeing you on screen soon.
