ARK skincare is launching on QVCUK

Shula Starkey If you're looking for a skincare range that suits your age rather than your skin type, then ARK Skincare may just be your saving grace. It launches on QVC on Monday 6th September, but we caught up with the guest expert Shula Starkey to find out more…

What is different about ARK skincare range?

ARK Age Aware Skincare treats the skin in a different way to other brands – by age rather than by skin type. We look at the physiological and environmental changes that your skin undergoes as time passes, and aim to tackle the signs of ageing and keep you looking healthier for longer.

So we have three age-related product lines:

  • Age Prepare (late teens to early 30s)
  • Age Maintain (mid 30s to 50s)
  • Age Repair (50s and beyond)

What types of product can we expect from the range?

We have four core products in each line: a cleanser, moisturiser, exfoliator and masque.  We recommend using the cleanser and moisturiser daily, the exfoliator every two to three days and the masque weekly or as required.  Fundamentally this is all you need.

From time to time, however, you will have skin concerns caused by factors in the ageing process or external factors such as the weather, stress, environment, sleep etc. So we also have a range of eight Skin Response Serums which can be used directly on the skin under the moisturiser or mixed in with the moisturiser and/or masque morning and evening. The serums were developed to target the top eight skin concerns as voted by ARK customers:

  • Fine lines, tightness (Hydrating Skin Response Serum)
  • Breakouts, congestion, shine (Clearing Skin Response Serum)
  • Sensitive, inflamed skin (De-stress Skin Response Serum)
  • Wrinkles, premature ageing (Firming Skin Response Serum)
  • Dull, tired-looking (Radiance Skin Response Serum)
  • Texture (Phytohormone Skin Response Serum)
  • Environmental damage, sun damage, inflammation (Antioxidant Skin Response Serum)
  • Inflammation, eczema, rosacea (Anti-redness Skin Response Serum)

The serums contain six to eight weeks of use. It is up to you how much or how little you use based on what you feel your skin needs. We normally say around three drops but, if your skin is excessively dry due to dehydration, we would recommend double that or more of the Hydrating Skin Response Serum.

Visit and tune in on Monday 6th September for a full introduction to the range.

I am pleased a new skincare range is coming to QVC that takes age into account.I will be 72 in December and my skin is almost wrinkle free (few lines around the eye area), however I do have some red vein lines on my cheeks. I hope therefore that there is something to help with these, as I would rather have wrinkles than red veins. Hope you can help.

Looking forward to learning about this range, at fifty nine and a half 😉 I am lucky to have hardly any lines or wrinkles, and little sun damage however there has been slight loss of volume. I know there is little a cream can do about this, but loss of firmness maybe can be helped, I am excited about this approach to skin care!

Cant wait for a range, that finally reconizes age over condition/skin type.
Will be tuning in to see if it suits me.

This skin care range sounds very interesting. I am 67 years old and I have a skin care range at the moment which I have been using for about thireeen years years – I might just give this a go but it will have to be good to beat the one I am using at the moment – I also think I will feel I am betraying a best friend trying a a new range!!!

I have pores on my forehead, tip of my nose, cheeks and chin. Hope this range will smooth it all out & it will be unnoticeable under make-up. Hope this range will help solve the problem.

I am 43 and over the the last 3 years have developed slight pigmentation on my upper lip and on the side of my cheeks. It is slight and i can get away with covering it with make up. I also wear SPF 50 for extra protection when i go out. I wonder if you have any skin care products that help this problem?

At 75 I wonder if it’s too late to expect the wrinkles to be smoothed over a little, don’t expect miracles but a little advice for my age group would be greatly appreciated. Will watch your programme with interest.

I will try and watch this to see if the range offers anything for extreme acne scarring on the arms and back. This is my biggest concern at present and nothing that I have tried has had any effect and I have tried virtually everytrhing on the market. I wait in anticipation!

I can’t see how this would work. My skin is dry and sensitive but if someone the same age has oily skin, how on earth can it work to give benefits to both? I found the presentations very confusing and not at all convincing that it works. I beleive you should treat skin by type not age. It won’t be tempting me away from my trusty Liz Earle.

Have been with QVC for 2 years and still searching for a moisturizer to suit my skin.Purchased skin maintain cream and hydrating serum. These just may be it.PLEASE STOCK THE OTHER SERUMS AND COLLAGEN SUPPLEMENTS.I believe taking supplements internally boosts the results of what is put on the skin externally.Thank You QVC for bringning this range to us.

I have used this range since I bought it in September and I LOVE IT! I am 43 with relatively good skin but wanted that little bit extra. This has done it for me.
My skin can be a bit sensitive but this was perfect. I usually like premium organic products and though I’d give this a go as it seems to be based on nature. Lovely clean smells, very easy to use and I adore the toner in particular. I also love the moisturiser. It was perfect at the end of summer and still seems to be doing brilliantly now the cold weather is here. The hydrating serum is magical. I’m going to try the pre-cleanse next – in fact I want to try everything appropriate to my age range – Maintain.
Please expand the range on QVC!

You look gorgeous wiuhott makeup. Maybe there is hope for me yet. I am 28 and still have horrible skin acne, flakes, etc. I know you didn’t have time to take my first ‘dare to wear’ challenge but I have posted a second one on my blog if you get a chance to check it out. Alicia
