Hope you're all well and enjoying this great weather we've been having lately – we certainly did on my niece's big day (pictured). Life has been busy as usual Chez Dawson. Slightly more stressful what with being in the middle of GCSE's at the moment. It's the last lot for me – thank goodness.
I normally consider myself a relatively patient soul (although I'm sure others would beg to differ), but I tell you the virtue patience has been stretched to its limit this week! My youngest Jon and his take on "studying" has nearly pushed me over the edge – check out the photo! It's more like "Isn't this whole studying thing quite a lark really?"
Having said that, I remember my own version of studying for both the old O-Levels and my Scottish highers (our version of the A-Level) – always last minute.com! But I don't ever recall trying to pass off sunbathing as studying (did you notice the sun lounger by the way? An old TSV and very lovely too!).
Well that's my first "are you sure?". The second one is far more depressing. My brother was here for his usual Wednesday lunchtime visit yesterday. He loves music, so we had one of the music channels on TV. We put on the one that was playing two hours worth of "golden oldies".
Well shock horror! I was expecting a bit of Elvis, the Beatles or even something from the '70's and what do they play? Robbie Williams! I ask you, Robbie Williams, a golden oldie! Are you sure?! If he's a golden oldie then I reckon I should be on display in the Natural History museum (please don't all shout "amen")!
It's just one of those incidents that makes you suddenly feel your age! Is it just me? Please, there must be some of you out there with a similar story. Drop me a wee line and let me recover my youth a tad.
Take care you lovely lot.
