Hi again! What’s happening? Dale writing two blog posts in a week?!? There must be a special reason… Well in many ways it is – to me anyway.
I just wanted to give all readers of “The Blog of The Fox” a tasty reminder that the third series of kitchen shows featuring Mr Andi Peters and myself is back next Monday 12th October. This is the second series of Andi Peters’ Food Fest and follows on from the success of last year’s shows.
Many viewers have described us as QVC’s answer to Ant and Dec, Morecambe and Wise or even The Chuckle Brothers! You’ll have to make up your own minds on that score, and you can do that every Monday evening from 7pm for the next couple of months in the run up to Christmas.
It’s true that Andi and I hit it off instantly, we originally recorded a pilot show a couple of years ago and although we aim to entertain and make the viewing experience fun, both of us are genuinely excited by the ‘Food Glorious Food’ on offer from the array of multi award-winning specialists at QVC.
The shows give us all the opportunity to savour fine dining, providing you with inspiration to celebrate special occasions or simply treat yourself to a high standard of delicious treats.
There will be an array of new mouth-watering lines, some of which Andi has worked on personally with our esteemed suppliers (poor them!). Seriously, Andi is passionate about quality food and like so many of us, really appreciates the finer things life has to offer.
Here’s a taster of our first Show this coming Monday.
We’ll be leading with our traditional 5.3kg Festive Christmas Hamper from Green Seasons – all the essential Christmas meat and poultry you need, fully traceable and sourced from the British farms. We’ll be joined by second generation “Master Butcher” Pat Herlihy (Pat Butcher) and the chef Michael James – lovely guys and real experts to learn from.
Pat will also unveil something from Green Seasons that perhaps King Henry VIII might have experienced ! A SEVEN BIRD ROAST!! It’ll be worth tuning in for that alone.
Not to be outdone, the wonderful Kate Jenkins from Gower Cottage Brownies is back with a new exquisite Belgian Chocolate & Orange flavour in addition to her famous existing choices of Regular, Gluten-Free and Hazelnut & Walnut. I believe Mr Peters may have persuaded Kate to create this amazing new flavour. In my humble opinion – Gower Cottage Brownies are the best Brownies I have ever tasted and I say that having eaten brownies in the US of A, who know a thing or two about them. Kate is a superb baker and keeps her magic formula close to her chest. One taste of them and you’ll realise why. OMG!
Brett and Christine are back from The Real Pie Company with a very special 10-inch, Sausage Roll Wreath! I haven’t tasted it yet but my buyers tell me it’s incredible.
Churchills are also back with two colourful, collectible biscuit selections – eat them all up and collect the embossed tins is my advice or if you can bear to, gift them.
Lance Forman will also be joining us – it was his Great Grandfather who started the world-renowned H Forman & Sons in London’s East End. Lance will be bringing us a selection of assorted mini fish cakes; I received mine at home and they are wonderful with incredible flavours. Their beautiful fresh fish is expertly cooked and ready to eat or re-heat, perfect for that special dinner party or family occasions.
