We were invited a few months ago by Thompson & Morgan to grow lilies. Well, I've never seen such competition among my peers. I'm just glad mine grew to be honest. However they were really easy to grow and they look fabulous.
I think the winner will be announced soon…. keep an eye out for big news. I know some of my colleagues have taken this very seriously and have seeked specialist advice and I wouldn't be surprised if some have employed professional services! Lol!
It's been as busy as ever at the Q. I thought you'd like to see some of the team who worked on the diamond show I recently presented with Dale. Just behind me is our producer and on the left hand side at the back, our director. If you're thinking he looks familiar, he's the spitting image of 'Rigsby' from The Mentalist. I can't imagine who the other two people are between me and Dale!?
It's hard to believe we've been at our new premises for well over a year now. I'm very fortunate as it shortened my journey considerably. That was, until a recent journey into work the other morning.
I was approaching the final roundabout to take me to Chiswick Park, the new home of QVC. It's a really busy roundabout made up of several lanes of traffic. As I began to pull away, my car suddenly stopped. I thought I'd stalled it…. apparently not. I turned the key and although it turned over it wouldn't start up. There aren't many worse places to break down with traffic streaming in every direction! A little embarrassing as well as hazardous!
Well, the car is now in the workshop and is being repaired. We have a great garage that looks after the family car as well as mine and it should be back on the road in the next day or so. Maybe I was tempting fate when I was saying to a friend recently how in all the years I've had the car, it's never really let me down ;-(
I made it to QVC in time to go on air but I did miss out on lunch….. not like me at all!
Ok, time to dash and see if there's any more I can do to increase my chances of being crowned champion grower!
