And the dress I’ll be wearing tonight is…

Breast Cancer Care logo Well what can I say… except THANK YOU ALL!! :) So many of you have taken time out to choose the dress I am to wear tonight to host our fantastic Be Aware, Show you Care Breast Cancer Care Fundraiser.

I'm delighted to be able to tell you now which dress won… and trust me it's taken a few counts, as Willows (my cat) launched herself onto the lap top and I lost my place as her paws hit the keyboard… oh, and then the postlady called (with my Lock & Locks) and the battery ran out while I was answering the door, BUT all that aside, here's the verdict…

Alison with Claudia, Dale and Diana Moram In third place (love the suspense don't you?) was dress A with 25 votes, second was dress C with 26 votes, but the winner by a long way was dress B with a total of 35 votes. And I've been really fair and not included those who couldn't decide… like me! :)

So as promised, I would like to thank  Nicola, Jackie, Kath, Karen, Allison, Eileen, Penny, Gaynor, Marg, Steven, Dorothy, Pam, Nikki, Karen, Barbara, Rhonda, Margaret, Ann,  Kim,  Anne, Janine, Maureen, Barbara, Wilma, Jackie, Tracy, Tracey Hunter, Gill, Val, Sue, Rhona, Jue, Kim,  Kim Egan, Lorraine, Elizabeth, Valerie, Annette, Carole, Lyn, Rhona, Elaine, Lillian, Lyn, Lynn, Liz, Magda, Margaret, Stephanie, Julie, Anne, Elizabeth,  Charmain, Mrs. S Smith, Betsy, babytiger, Mrs.L Hambleton, Kelly, Pauline, Sue, Linda, Georgina, Amanda, Lou, Rebecca, Irma, Jacqueline, Kiu, Elaine, Julie, Vicky, Siobahn, Cindy, Janet, Zoe, Pauline, Janice, Jeannie, Elizabeth, Samantha, June, Jue, Kath, Emma and Michelle.

Not only did you bother to read the BLOG and make a choice, but so many of you said the nicest things about the dresses and how they looked too.

I very much hope you'll all be able to join Dale and I tonight at 7pm for this very special evening. We'll be asking you to dig deep because we've raised over £2.6 million so far, and would REALLY like to shift that to over £3 million. Do you think we can do it?? I KNOW we can :)

So I'll see you there, in dress B, and we can spend the 3 hours together, and I promise to take loads of pictures behind the scenes, and fill you on any gossip next time.

Again, I can't thank you enough, so I'll stop now  :)

Love Ali x

    Hi Marg,
It was lovely to know you were the other side of the camera, and as you saw, EVERYONE put their all into the evening, and we had smashed the £4k target I believe just before midnight. So very grateful to everyone who helped us to achieve this, and I know having spoken to many of the Fundraising Team from BCC after the event they were absolutely delighted. Take care, love Ali x

Hi Steven, Yes, you were the only guy to comment and I believe one of the only guys who ever write to me here, but trust me, it is very much appreciated :) Hope you managed to catch some of the evening and we did reach our target just before midnight, so thanks for watching, and have a great weekend. Love Ali x

Dear Margaret, it is our pleasure, and I include in that not only we presenters, but also all those the other side of the camera in London and Liverpool who gave of their time and expertise to make it such a success. Your words are so very much appreciated, and I will pass them on to my friends, ‘cos that’s what makes our ‘job’ into something truly special. My love to you and all your family, Alison xxxx

I just find this addictive Ali! I think your the only presenter that I have actually told my age too as well. Don’t know if you gorgeous ladies discuss your blogs at QVC? Glad I am appreciated somewhere ha ha. I love how most of the presenters always reply to you in person especially you. I think you are the quickest actually. Thanks again and have a nice weekend x

Hi Charmaine – I too am sorry I missed you when you visited. I actually hosted the following day’s jewellery event, and it was so nice to meet everyone. I’ve asked if we can do more of these kind of things so we get the chance to catch up with more of you in person, so watch this space :) And thank you for supporting us by watching on Thursday night. It was very much a night to remember. Love Ali x

Julie I agree with you completely! It was the first time I’d seen Keeley since before she had her son, and to see them both together was wonderful. He is the most beautiful little boy, and Keeley and her husband are so happy and relaxed with him. I’ve got an hour with her next week I think so should have more time to chat :) You take care Love Ali x

Hi Ali or Alison to give you your Sunday name! I’m sure they do appreciate me too :) Think I was feeling sorry for myself last week because we were moving floors in my work and everything was a mess – major stress! Sorted this week though and I’m now off for a couple of days as I am going to the football tomorrow night. Not lovely weather here I’m afraid up in Scotland. Don’t think we have had a summer :)
Look forward to your next blog Ali. Take care xx

Well I’m a bit of a tail end Charlie with my comments !! Poorly choccy labbie, but you looked STUNNING! Glad you chose B. You looked so elegant and understated, sexy, but classy. Just a thought, you looked so good with your hair up the other day, you should do that more often. Take care and love to the debonaire silver fox , who complimented the elegance! Gill x

Hi Steven, Hope you enjoyed the football and had a vest on! It was cold and wet at my mums in Bishops Waltham, although we had a lovely night in with my sister round for tea :) They all call me Alison!! I think Ali’s friendlier though. You take care and I hope you’ve unpacked everything by now. Kathy and I moved dressing room last week and it was mayhem for a while! Couldn’t find my velcro rollers – what’s a girl to do!

Thank you Gill for writing and I do hope your choccy labbie is OK now! I had a black Lab called Taxi (he never came when we called him) and he was a sweetie. Your comments have made me blush, and I will definitely try putting my hair up again – it’s nice to be cool around the neckline too! I’ll say hi to my debonaire partner tomorrow when I’m in, and yes I thought he too looked fab :) Love Ali xx

Well the annoying this is our floor is getting refurbished so we will have to do this all again in my work in about 4 weeks! Not looking forward to that..
I much prefer Ali too Ali :) although a girl in my work would slap me if I called her Ali instead of Alison I think! I’m sure a gorgeous lady like you would survive without your velco rollers!! Take care Ali and thanks for your reply xxx

Rhona, just read your lovely missive, and having spent a couple of days with my mum, where my sister joined us, it seems as though she too really enjoyed the evening. She was still laughing at the Lapis Lazuli quips :) He’s a good sport Dale – for one so old!! Of course I will see if i can squeeze in a Dennis Basso for you and maybe even a Lulu! It cheers me no end to think we made you laugh, and in all honesty in spite of the gravity of the situation at some points, it was a fabulous feeling to be so much a part of it all. As a company QVC really make tremendous effort, and what you didn’t see were the decorations that each department had set up, the cake baking to raise money, sponsored Race for Life, and all sorts of other things, so like your mum and her special events, they all pulled together to make it even more spectacular. Hope you’re well Rhona and that you may even be getting the chance to enjoy the late autumn sunshine…? I’ve got my washing out on the line again! Love to Rebecca, you and of course Colin. :) Ali xx

Rhona, hands up, I did miss your comment further up, but duly replied about an hour ago, so will wait until the wonders of technology print it for you! You have just put the fear of God in me by telling me we only have 8 saturdays till Christmas! I’m still picking sweet peas in the garden! It’s clouding over now, and my washings out, so better dash, but hope you get my first missive prior to this one.
    Love to all, Ali xx

Gill, thanks so much for the feeback re: Diamonique Regal Splendour. I have to say Anne was a joy to work with, and I genuinely loved the designs and the stories behind them. I’m sure there’ll be more in the offing so watch this space. Very glad to hear Rumi is on the mend. The family in Ireland always had chocolate labs – last two were Toffo and Rollo – lovely old things, but were spoilt rotten so almost as wide as they were high :) Look after yourself, and thanks for keeping in touch. Always good to hear. Ali x

Crikey Steven – 4-1!! No wonder you were Mr Grumpy :( Probably cos you were exhausted after clearing the office! I suggest you ask for a day off prior to the move back! Have a good weekend – great Archos up for grabs in our TSV at midnight, so maybe see you then, Ali xx p.s. I’m sure the girl at work wouldn’t mind being called Ali – I’ve had many variations on the theme from Ali Pat, Alibags, to Alibum!
