Star of stage and screen, Amanda Holden, is back on your screens on Thursday 6th July with her bright and modern homeware collection – BundleBerry. Inspired by Amanda’s love of colour and texture, the range features everything from small home accents (we’re LOVING the faux succulents!) to larger, statement pieces of furniture. Ahead of her upcoming show, we asked her to share a few words of wisdom on all things interiors…
Take a risk with colour, even if it’s something tiny
Pops of bright colour really lift a neutral room.
Introduce some personality
This flamingo was a bit of a camp joke, but everyone was like, it’s amazing! Try a bit of tropical or a fake plant.
Be daring with a feature wall
I’m a huge fan. My hallway has patterned wallpaper all the way down one side: like a Chinese blue china motif. My office also has pineapples on one wall, and my bathroom has tiny silver palm trees.
Take time over decisions
I have a million tester pots. When I try them it’s like Joseph and The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, but it takes a few days to decide. Greys, whites and blues change at various times of day in different lights.
You never think, ‘I’ve got too much storage space’
So I love piles of boxes and cases. My children have trunks in their bedrooms stacked up with a lamp on top. Modern houses are short on storage space. You need drawers you can throw all your stuff in. I call them “drawers of hope”. When my husband says “Where’s the…?” I say, “Have a look in the drawer of hope…”
Thanks for the tips Amanda!
