The summer is well and truly here so I thought I'd pick out a few of my favourite essentials to keep your skin protected and looking gorgeous in the sunshine...

The best moisturiser for use on flights

Prescriptives Super Flight Cream

This is a great product for skin that gets dehydrated on long flights. You can use it as a daily moisturiser twice a day or even as a mask to keep on throughout your flight. Plus, you can wear it over or under your make-up so it won't stop you from looking your best!

This Prescriptives moisturiser is also great for use in hot countries as it will keep your skin hydrated without sweating off.

It's important to keep your lips and hands hydrated on long flights too so I recommend Gale Hayman Lip Lift and L'Occitane Lavender Hand Cream. 

The best essential oil to help deter mosquitoes

Pure Tea Tree Oil

Simply add a few drops to areas you find particularly attract mosquitoes or you can even add it to your suncream and moisturiser for top-to-toe coverage. ABC offer it in a Body Lotion and Skin Wash too which can be easier for the kids!

The SPF30 Face Cream is great worn everyday throughout the year but you'll really notice its performance when you're sunning yourself on holiday. Use once a day for all-day protection, whichever SPF factor you choose. These have been tested thoroughly and the SPF for each refers to the minimum rather than the maximum sun protection factor that it contains. Apply to clean, bare skin before following with your daily moisturiser and make-up.

Philip Kingsley Swimcap

This is the perfect summer holiday product for your hair, especially if you're a keen sunbather. It's designed to prevent sun and water damage and should help stop coloured hair from fading too.

Another great hair product is Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment. Ojon's rich formulas are great throughout the year but work especially well in the summertime. Apply 2 - 3 times a week in the hot season and you may even want to wear it as a hair mask when sunbathing to prevent your hair from drying out. Ojon also have a selection of sprays to protect your hair further in the sun.

Laura Geller Bronze 'N' Brighten 

It doesn't look as heavy as some bronzers can but it warms up the skin tone nicely. I'm not a big fake tanner anymore so for me, this does this trick.

Hello Alison,
I recently purchased the Lulu Time Bomb TSV after seeing your recommendations on air, and thought it was great. I particularly liked the Flashback Night Cream and also the Take-Off Time Polishing Pads, both of which I would like to repurchase. However I can’t find either items on the QVC website, except as part of a set with other items. Please could you look into this for me and perhaps forward the product numbers so I can order them.
