Alison Young’s Beauty Night In Show Highlights

5

I have really enjoyed, and they have certainly been my favourite hours to present, the Alison Young’s Beauty Night In shows this year.  What I love most about them is sharing my knowledge with you, getting your instant questions and being able to do some realistic demonstrations. I have especially loved the times when I’ve put my uniform on and done a make-up or skincare demonstration for you to give you some practical ways of how the products will work at home.

I could literally do Will’s quick-fire Q&A all day because I love answering your questions and helping you on a one-to-one basis.  It is the reason why I first qualified and entered into this industry so I love getting back to what your concerns are in your beauty regime, in your life, and how I can help you. I secretly think Will has loved doing this too. Notice he always pouts at the beginning and end of a question with his over-powdered Laura Geller face!

It’s been really great to also showcase some brand new launches over this season of shows and to highlight and give the Beauty Night In audience some hot beauty gossip or sneak previews of up-coming beauty Today’s Special Values. I think ‘most’ of the guests have enjoyed appearing on this show, although some get a little bit petrified about what I’m going to ask them to do. But, as I always explain to them, I just want them to do more real demos and answer some more real questions instead of the very polished, perfect looking performance which some guests have perhaps got stuck in a rut with, which although it’s a brilliant product, may make you overlook it at home. Anyway, this is my excuse for giving them some poignant questions or making them giggle to try to get them to relax so that they can share the story of the product with you at home.

I know that many of you have loved the opportunity of the competitions, which I have to say a big thank you to the buying team and Will for organising. Look out for lots more next year. Behind the scenes, I know that both the producers and floor managers and everyone involved in the show has really been motivated and enjoyed doing their best. This is especially down to your interaction and social media presence which has continued to drive everyone’s enthusiasm as we feel we are able to deliver a very current and buzzy beauty show that you are finding interesting at home.

I would also personally like to thank Will Gowing, as Laurel needs his Hardy, Tom needs his Jerry, Ant’s no good without Dec and I’m definitely better with Will Gowing.  Long may this double act continue.

In celebration of this double act, check out the video below which Will has put together to celebrate some of their best moments!

Oh Ali, so must past tense! Wali will be back, it just has to be. It’s the best show on Q and I’d be surprised if the sales didn’t show that. I’ll be nagging as usual until we get you both back, I don’t know why they keep stopping the show. Love to you both! x

Alison I am a part-time Beauty Therapist, doing mostly waxing, tinting, makeup & spray tanning. I would like to introduce facials to my range, so I was wondering what range you would suggest? As I don’t know how this would go, I would like to try a range lower price with great results on the skin, if my clients liked the products I could suggest they purchase them fro QVC.

Any suggests on nail care, I normally use the OPI products, as I don’t do a lot of nail painting I don’t have a lot of colours to choose from (I don’t wear nail polish myself, perhaps once a month) and I find the nail polishes if opened & not used regularly they get thick and also go out of FASHION – Any suggestions would be great.

Thank you in advance, to take the time to read my request.

    Kind regards

    Deirdre Killen
