Alison and I attend the Breast Cancer Care Fashion Show

Dale with Beverley Craven at the Breast Cancer Care Fashion Show Sorry my last blog was delayed but the lovely lady Louise who posts my blogs was off sick with a very nasty cold – probably the same as I had but as a man, of course, I had it far worse!!

On Wednesday night I had the great pleasure of escorting Miss Alison Keenan to the Breast Cancer Care Fashion Show event at The Grosvenor House in Park Lane. As always it was a fantastic event with the stars being the fashion models who had all been or were still affected by Breast Cancer. They were just amazing and so inspiring. They were cheered and encouraged every step of the way by an adoring crowd and there were not many dry eyes in the house.

Dale with Karen - one of QVC's camera operators Ali made a splendid job of encouraging the throng to join us both, along with Craig and Claudia, next Thursday for our 10th live Breast Cancer Care broadcast – which we hope with your help will be the best so far.

Alison and I were joined at the dinner table by well known on-air guests including Simon Wilson, Leighton Denny, Charlie Lipson, Andrew Bagley, Alexis Murdoch, as well as Directors from Diet Chef, Kipling Bags, and other fabulous QVC brands.

Before the event started Alison and I met the very lovely Singer Songwriter Beverley Craven, who later sang her best known hits to a very appreciable audience. Beverley came over to Alison and I to show us some of her beautiful jewellery that she had bought from QVC – we were both honoured that she should take the trouble to do this and I just had to have a photo taken with her (above left) – I think you’ll agree she looks stunning.

You’re probably wondering who the starlet in the 2nd photo is (above right) – well believe it or not it’s Karen, one of QVC’s camera operators. She is a great character and jewellery fans will have heard me pull her leg on numerous occasions.

The event never fails to make me realise how important organisations like Breast Cancer Care are to us all and I for one will be working very hard to convince all our viewers to dig deep and support this worthy cause on Thursday night between 7 and 10pm. Let’s make a date!

Hi Kath, I found out that my bow-tie had received a bid of £15 on it after the event. Aparently the bidder withdrew, so it’s still available if you want to make a bid ! Thanks Tracey, I agree it sounds better to say twenty Ten, but I’m told its correct also to say two thousand and ten – having said that we do say nineteen ten rather than one thousand nine hundred etc !so take yer pick ! Thanks for your comments and for your fantastic support for the BCC event. Dale x

Just to say you are a really great presenter who I love inviting into my home! You have such a good sense of humour and I love the way you have your tongue firmly in yur cheek when you present some products. Other presenters do take themselves much too seriously. Keep up the good work.

    Dale,
Loved Silver day and bought several items. I thought I would ask if there will ever be a pink Charles Jasper 50cm necklace coming in the future. I can only find 2 items on the QVC web for pink Jasper and one is a very long necklace which is too long and the other is a bracelet. Sometimes with heavy gem necklaces the clasps seem to be pretty small and not substantial enough for the weight of stones. Perhaps the buyers could flag this with the suppliers as I have noticed a lot of reviews on various gemstone jewellery mention this. One more request Item 697707 – a carved flower and gemstone necklace was beautiful but are there any plans to improve the way this is strung as I ordered one and it arrived in pieces. If this was improved I would buy another. I thought I would ask you -hope you don’t mind- as you are the QVC Guru!! Love your shows as you are so funny!!
