Ahhhh, blue sky!

Blue skyIt feels like weeks, no, make that months since I last saw blue sky! Long may it stay! It was a gorgeous day when I took the picture on the left; with white fluffy clouds skimming against the blue (although some had a thunderous grey about them!)

When my children were younger we would lie on the grass in the garden to see what shapes we could spot in the clouds.

My son was convinced a cloud resembled the perfect shape of a Power Ranger! I on the other hand, thought it looked a little more like a Dalek! My daughter spotted a rabbit-shaped cloud and Mum saw a handbag (of course!)

I've been off-air for a few days now. I'm still working but have been taking part in rehearsals at our new and rather stunning premises which we move into shortly. I can't wait – the building is breathtaking.

It's been a lot of fun (with no mistakes on my part.. well, maybe a few!) and the hard work of everyone is really paying off. I think you'll love the new studios. All being well, we go live in a few weeks time.

OPII will miss Marco Polo house, QVC's current home in London, but I won't miss the commute. The journey has definitely got worse in recent years. Our new place in Chiswick, which is all very shiny and new, shaves around 20 minutes off my journey. Brilliant, after a late night finish!

Speaking of shows; I'm back on-air Tuesday 22nd May with a few kitchen shows – the arrangement is, I eat while the guest talks! Plus we have an OPI Professional Nail Care show at 10pm.

Take care and have fun cloud spotting!

This week's fact: The sun is huge – over 1 million Planet Earths could fit inside it!

Hi Charlie, I had to laugh at your suggestion to chase clouds, if ..and thats a big if I got down to stare at the clouds our ground is so wet I hate to think where I would end up, we dont all have hose pipe bans, its a pump we need to get rid of the water in the ground, my poor plants have learned to swim this year, its either that or going under never to see the light of day again.
BUT guess what we had a lovely day today, the sun was shining it was plesantly warm, and I was in bed with the flu.I’ve had it since sat. so I’m over the worst, I hope.
Well you sound very excited with the new premises, have they a name,or shouldnt I ask that.It will be good to work in new surroundings, do you get marked on the practice runs you do? whats your average?
I hope this weather lasts for a while to let the children get some freedom from being kept indoors, dont you think they grow like mushrooms in the warmth of the sun. I do hope your DAD continues to improve,we send our best wishes, you seemed to have a lovely visit, and I’m so glad Mum got her Elimis,I’m sure that got you an extra fruit pie to take home, do you always eat as heartily as you do on Q? you certainly enjoy your food. Theres nothing a chef likes more than someone enjoying their food.
well I wonder what I’ll learn next week. I keep a note, you never know when these facts are useful,
Please give my best wishes to the family.
    and take care Charlie,

Hi Marg, lovely to hear from you.
Sorry to hear you’ve been poorly, I’m glad you’re on the mend. I guess your flowers are happier now with this glorious sunshine (it’s a bit hot for me, I’m more of a cold, fresh weather person)
I do seem to eat a lot when on air, you’re not the first to notice! I do love my food, however I tend t eat little and often rather than huge meals…. Now that I’ve mentioned food I’m feeling a little hungry!
I don’t know if our new premises have a fancy name… I don’t think they do. When we’ve settled in I’ll be sure to blog some photos, the team have put together stunning studios for us, oh and the canteen is just fabulous too! It was very important I checked them out, of course!
    Take care
