OK, I don’t want to jinx anything but so far so good when it comes to spring weather don’t you think?? I know it’s not been amazing, however we have definitely had some beautiful sunshine and almost crazily warm days so I’m happy with that. We have even had a few Saturday morning breakfasts outside at the local airfield and the weather for Mother’s Day weekend was absolutely gorgeous!!
I feel as though March has flown by, lots has been going on from my daughter’s science cake competition to finally getting the bookshelves built at home (you’ll see the updates on twitter @Pipalive). I’ve been out and about on Beth lots thanks to the lovely weather and in fact, as soon as I finish writing this, I’ll be getting my jodhpurs on and off to tack Beth up as Beverley Cressman and I are going to a showjumping clinic. I’m still totally terrified of jumping and pretty much clearing a pathetic 60cm on a good day so we shall see how that goes!
I have to say however that my highlight at QVC this month was definitely doing the Gardening Re-Leaf show with Richard Jackson. It is an annual event that we do to launch the gardening season along with the entire industry and collectively we raise money for Greenfingers Charity who create magical gardens for children in hospices which offer much needed space, peace and happiness for families there. Our target was to raise £37,000 and I’m pretty certain that we smashed it (I’m still waiting for the final figure) so thank you to you if you bought any products from those shows. You can still donate by clicking here https://www.justgiving.com/greenfingers/donate if you weren’t around on the day. Not all families are able to enjoy the fullness of life as many of us do, they face serious illnesses which dramatically change the way they live their lives. These gardens provide an incredible place for families to be together and enjoy the delights of the outside world whilst living through very difficult times.
Having just celebrated Mothers Day with my family, I am reminded of how thankful I am for being a Mum as it is truly the best job in the world, and also for the fact that my children are healthy and able to bounce along through life. We are so fortunate at QVC to be able to raise money on occasions like this, also not forgetting Breast Cancer Care in October. Thank you for joining in on all the different things we do. Also, I mustn’t forget, thank you so much for all your comments on my last blog, I loved reading all your wise sayings from your Mums.
Much love as always,
