Aaaaaand the winner of my Body Rescue Plan competition is…

19

Jo Carnell from Aldershot! Congratulations Jo! Do be sure to let me know how you get on. I really hope you love it as much as I do.

To everyone else who entered, thank you for doing so. I appreciated every lovely comment you left and wish there were as many books to give away as there were entries! Still, the good news is that lovely Christianne Wolff will be back on the 10th of February with Kathy Tayler on the 9am Morning Show. My advice? Keep checking the website ahead of the show and get your order in as they sold so fast last time. Please keep me updated with your progress on the plan, too.

And while we’re talking about winners…  the totally-broke-and-exhausted award goes to… meeeee! Aaaand, there’s no trophy. Well, not yet, anyway. I’m working every spare moment I can on my house to get it to a move in-able condition. It will all be worth it in the end. Finally, a home for me, my children and my cats to love and enjoy. That’s the trophy.

Seriously, though, I have loved the process and learned so much along the way thanks to my wonderful friend, Steve, who is a property developer and is guiding me through this endeavour. Will Gowing came out to visit me at the weekend to see how things were progressing. He was most impressed as you can see here, hee hee!

After ripping up yet more floorboards and connecting yet more pipes I am almost ready to fire up the only radiator in the place! It can’t happen soon enough. I tell you, it’s abso-bloomin’-lutely freeeeeeeezing working in this weather. I’m going to install underfloor heating in all but one room. It was a small ‘snug’ extension added by the previous owners but the floor is solid concrete so I’ve opted for a radiator in there. Can’t wait… now all I need is a flushing loo and it’s almost liveable. Ish. Hmm. Well, soon, anyway. For now we will just have to suffer certain indignities for the greater good.

So, from the not-so-glamorous to the outright divine world of Modalu England handbags! I am presenting their premiere show on QVC this coming Sunday at 6pm. My goodness, they are truly stunning. Beautifully made, enduring, modern classics. There’s not much that we currently stock in this area which I can compare these little beauties to. They have a very smart, chic, high-end luxury feel to them (as do the official pictures – I couldn’t quite recreate this shot myself!). I can see a touch of vintage Jackie O or Audrey Hepburn about them but with a little modern twist. Very special indeed. Feel free to comment below if you already know the bags and love them.

I’m still keeping healthy. I experimented and made some gorgeous chocolate truffles which Christianne Wolff would approve of the other day. Sugar free, gluten free, vegetarian truffles. Sooo yummy. They were gone so fast I didn’t take any piccies but I’ll share my recipe with you in my next blog. I want to take pics and create some variations before I post more details. Promise it’ll be worth the wait.

I’ve decided that, as I’m so busy, I’m going to give the BodyBlade a go as you only need to find 6 minutes per workout. I bought mine ages ago but, like so many people, I shockingly haven’t used it much. Next Tuesday I’ll be joined by BodyBlade Bruce, the inventor of this workout, at 5pm for a whole hour. Ooh I’m gonna be feeling it! I’d love to know what you think of it if you’ve tried it.

For now though, I must sign off as I have a Mount Vesuvius-sized pile of washing which is crying out for my attention.

Keep well, keep warm and keep happy.

Lots of love,

Catherine xxx

Oooh poor Catherine, I completely sympathize with you and your renovations. I am sure you will create a fabulous new home for yourself and your family. At the minute I am sitting in our spare bedroom which is desperately in need of decoration. We moved in 2 years ago at Christmas. We had to re-wire, put in a new boiler, kitchen, and multi-fuel stove. I have to admit that we were not as hands on as you are. My goodness you could tackle anything. Must be your new found energy from your ‘Body rescue plan’. I have ordered mine on wait-list and am really excited about giving it a go. Hopefully it will help with my ‘brain fog’ and help me focus on my degree – keep having to re-read the same paragraph several times for it to sink in. Will keep you posted at how I am getting on.

    Lots of love

    Hi Catherine,
Wow all the work you have been doing on your house, you are an inspiration. You have had so much to do, and I am sure plenty left.

It will be lovely when you and your family and not forgetting your gorgeous cats can all move in. You will be able to look around and say to yourself I did that. And under floor heating, think of that when you get up on a cold morning. I often walk around in our Kitchen without shoes, with socks on it is still cold in winter. Forget the socks in Summer and it is lovely and cool.

You are looking great, not that you did not before. You have achieved your goal, one more when the house is finished.

Will you be doing your own D.I.Y shows on QVC.

Take care and don’t work to hard.

    Love Jean XX

and reading it cover to cover, I will be having a go myself . On the other hand well done with sorting out your new home, all the work you are doing will be well worth it.
Bye the way I saw Alison Young presenting Elasticizer , her guest was Heather Berry
from Nails Inc, she looked amazing!! Loved her colour and lengh of her hair. Was she
wearing no glasses or contacts? Looked beautiful. Take care. Debbie Macfarlane xx

    Hello sparkly Twinkle!

Thanks for your comments. You are so kind. I’m equally proud of you, too. Every day you’ll get a little stronger.

My beautiful little girls (kittycats) are staying with my mum until the house is done. However, as my mum is 80 on Monday and will have visitors staying who are allergic to cats, they are in a wonderful local cat hotel for a couple of weeks. It’s beautiful and run by people who’ve always run catteries, their siblings have them and their parents ran them, too, so I know they’re in safe hands and they’re happy for me to pop in anytime. They’re such placid girls, nothing seems to faze them.

Keep well, my m’lovely. See you on twitter or here soon.

    Love Catherine x

    Hi Andrea,

Good luck with your degree! I’m sure many will empathise with ‘brain fog’ that you mentioned. I find sleep is usually the answer but not always a possibility. Christianne highly rates sleep for good health.

With regard to your spare room I’d say just shut the door until the degree is death with, ha ha! Ignorance is bliss. Ignore until you need to deal with it.

Sounds like you know only too well what a big job it is to renovate your home. I bet it feels great, though, knowing you’re getting it how you want it.

Keep me updated on the degree and also on the Body Rescue!

    Love Catherine x

    Hello June,

What a lovely name. I used to be friends with a June in school and haven’t met anyone of that name ever since so it’s lovely to see it in your post.

It’s funny, when I read your message it almost looked like you meant you had 75 cats! I’m thinking that’s not the case and it’s you who is 75 years young. I can’t imagine life without cats. They are such great company. Real characters. I really do miss mine whilst the house business is going on but it’s all for the greater good. They’re going to love their new home.

Yes, the blonde is creeping back..I think that’s more down to the hairdresser than me. I just sit down and take what they give me, hee hee. I do still like it to have a strawberry touch to it.

I hope you’re well. Lots of love,

    Catherine xx

    Hi Marie,

Thanks so much for your kind words. It’s an awful lot of work and upheaval at the moment but I really hope it will all be worthwhile. No, I don’t hope. I know it will be.

I’ll compromise with the hair and stay strawberry blonde so it’s halfway or so between red and blonde :-)

    Love Catherine x

    Hi Lucy Anne,

Very pretty name, by the way! Thanks for the encouraging words. I’m so glad you’re trying the plan. For me it wasn’t so bad on the detox as I allowed myself to keep snacking when I wanted to. Even if it was a little bit of chicken breast or some steamed broccoli with lemon juice, it made me feel I was snacking which meant no deprivation.

I also found the mindset helped a lot. Have you done your vision boarding? I found looking to the future and my desired shape and health really helped to motivate me.

Don’t forget to join Christianne’s Facebook page and twitter, too, as she is really helpful.

    Keep me posted!

    Love Catherine x

    Hi Paul,

Thanks so much for writing in and being so supportive! I really appreciate your kindness.

I have a little way to go until I’m done with the house but, slowly and surely, I’ll get there!

I hope you and yours are well and happy!

    Dear Jean,

Lovely to hear from you. Thanks for your lovely comments. I’m so excited that things are moving in the right direction, even if its taking longer than I’d like.

Yes, I’d love my own DIY shows! It would be great to show people who never thought they could do it to have a go! Like I always say, it’s crafting but much bigger.

I hope life is treating you well. Looking forward to the no socks weather!

    Love Catherine xx

    Hi Debbie,

Thanks for writing in. Nice to hear from you. Really pleased to hear you’re giving the Body Rescue Plan a go. As you know, I love it! Hope you get on well with it, too.

Yes, the lovely Heather Berry is quite a chameleon with regard to her appearance! She’s so beautiful, inside and out, and has great enthusiasm for beauty products. I’m guessing she was wearing contacts, although many people are now going for laser eye correction. I’d be a bit nervous so I’ll keep my glasses handy!

I hope you’re keeping well & warm. I’m freezing today!

    Love Catherine xx
