A wonderful week in Cyprus…

Stuart, Yvonne and Craig enjoying their break in CyprusHi there! Well, I'm writing this blog on the plane on the way back from a wonderful week in Cyprus so my stories and photos are all hot off the press!

Where do I begin?! I'd never been to Cyprus before and I absolutely loved it! We were blessed with great weather all but one of the days (when we had the most dramatic of storms!), the people were so friendly and it was a mixture of history, activities, partying and lazing in the sun!!

The view from the hotelWe were staying between Paphos and Coral Bay in the Azia hotel – the hotel was good, it wasn't quite the 5* the website implies and the rooms were really basic but you only sleep there, right? What was wonderful about the hotel were the helpful staff who were a mixture of Cypriot, Polish and Dutch with both concierges being from Yorkshire!

There was also a lovely pool area and rather elegant linen day beds – Craig at Paphosperfect place for sunset drinks.  The hotel was also near a small, peaceful beach where the sea was the wonderful clear green I have ever seen.

We did get out to do things – on the second day we explored the archaeological park of Paphos with the ruins of the Roman city and mosaics dating back to 3AD – absolutely breath-taking.
Craig and Yvonne at Aphrodite's bathing place
Then later in the week we, along with a fantastic Swedish lady we met at the beach, Yvonne, went up to the area of Akamas to see the bathing place of Goddess Aphrodite – it is said if you splash the water on your face you will never age so here's hoping!!

We also on that day did the five-mile Aphrodite Trail, taking in the coastCraig rests on the Aphrodite Trail path and the neighbouring countryside – as you can see from the photo of me by the tree and the amazing landscape shot, the view is breathtaking but so is the climb, at some points it was very, very steep, not sure I could have done it if I had vertigo!

Other than that we had plenty of fun in and around Paphos having cocktails, meeting lots of people and of course dancing the night awayYvonne and Craig enjoying cocktails – you know me!

In the photos you can see me, Stuart and Yvonne in our various activies around the island – one of the surprise shots is that amazing sunset captured on my phone on the way to the gym one night, shame I didn't have my camera with me at the time but at least I managed to capture the essence of it – just beautiful.

A beautiful sunsetHope you like the photos and I would love to hear your stories of Cyprus if youve ever been? And if not, where did you go on holiday this year or where would you like to go if you could go anywhere?

Please leave a comment below, I love reading them and I will reply to them all, promise!!

Much love,

Got married in Cyprus on 23rd August this year, at the Napa Mermaid Hotel. It was the most perfect day and holiday, made very special by the staff and the fantastic weather… Loved every minute and will definitely return. X

Hi Craig I love cyprus so much, I went at the end of September for the 5th time. Even in the time I’ve been going its really changed, especially price wise!! Me and my mum are beach babes so we go to Protaras at the opposite side of the Island to where you were, the beaches especially Fig Tree Bay are beautiful and the water is so clear, wish I was there now in fact, inside of cold rainy Co Durham, I can but dream x
