A week of winter sun

Craig enjoys a sangria on the beach Hi there,

If you've been wondering where I am at the mo, well I can tell you that I'm blogging from the Canaries! But don't get too jealous just yet, it's almost 1am and our flight has so far been delayed by 12 hours! Hence the blogging from the airport and trying to cheer myself up by recounting memories from the week and sharing them with you…

Well, it's been a wonderful week. I've been to Gran Canaria about 8 or 9 times now, always in the winter as it's the perfect tonic after all the cold and grey days in the UK.

Craig in the African sauna This time I decided to splash out a bit, drag the credit card out and stay in a better class of hotel. Usually I just make do with any place I can rest my head, but this time I went for a little luxury – and it was bliss! Beautiful hotel, great food, lovely people and the place even has it's own spa – wow! As you can see from these pics, I've taken full advantage of the red hot African spa for a bit of detoxing, followed by a dive into the plunge pool – what invigoration!

Man, this plunge pool's cold! Weather-wise it's been good, not sunny every day, but after all the terrible weather we've had across Europe I don't think it's my place to complain about a few cloudy days!

The week has been a mixture of meeting new people, chatting over sangrias at the bar and lapping up all that glorious sunshine. Sangria is my favourite drink (as you can see from my face in the pic at the top of my post!) – but I always ask the bar tender not to add the customary banana liqueur – it's just a step too far for me!

Craig gets ready for another round of mini golf Oh and playing mini golf. I very narrowly missed out on becoming the champion supreme, I was pipped at the post!

So, assuming this plane ever takes off I will be back on air for the exciting launch of our next Northern Nights' TSV on Sunday night. It's a real corker – no less than a featherbed, duvet AND two pillows. It's the perfect excuse to get yourself that well-earned good night's sleep!

See you Sunday at midnight,
Lots of love,
Craig. x.
