A Song I Can’t Get Out Of My Head!

Hello! Hope you are well and had a good start to April and a good Easter?

I have a song that for some reason I can’t get out of my head – “My Favourite Things” by Julie Andrews (from The Sound of Music)…. I was enjoying the sunshine streaming into my flat yesterday morning and the daffodils in the vase looked all cheerful and vibrant and the song popped into my head!

It got me thinking of my favourite things and I’d love to know yours too!

So I think we’ve established daffodils are one of mine along with tulips and I guess it’s no surprise that spring is my favourite season. I love the heat of summer but the newness, freshness and promise that spring brings is a joy!

Another one of my favourite things is spending time with friends. I am blessed to have several good friends who I have known since my early twenties. One of them is my friend Emma, we went to a ‘Yin’ yoga workshop on Good Friday: three hours of deep, slow poses that really stretched the body and slowed the mind, it was so restorative. Then we had Mexican tapas and went home, ate a bit of Easter egg and watched TV – such a simple but wonderful day.

I also love trying and discovering new skincare, it’s been a passion for me since I was a teenager and what joy that I get to do it now in my job at QVC! A skincare range that I am loving at the moment is the probiotic range by Aurelia. A British skincare brand founded by Clare Vero (an expert from the world of pharmaceuticals) which is ‘free from’ and full of natural goodies. I have been using the Cell Repair Night Oil but must confess have been using it night and day! My skin loves it. Even though it’s still cold outside, my skin has a lovely glow to it and looks so even. It also balances that troublesome oily T-zone whilst still giving the dry skin around my beard and cheeks loads of conditioning – it’s brilliant!

There is a special size of the miracle cleanser coming to QVC so keep your eyes peeled!

Finally another little favourite thing of mine is a book I recently bought called ‘Calm’. It’s written by the team who put together an incredible app with the same name. It’s mindfulness in a really open, inspiring way – I love the app with its various meditations, sounds and programs to use anytime night or day and the book is a thing of beauty with gorgeous images, inspiration and wisdom – it’s my new bedtime reading. Just thought I’d share this with you if you feel you could do with some more calm in your life!

So, those are some of MY favourite things, now I’d love to know YOURS, drop me a line below.

Sending you big April hugs

    Hi Craig,

Like you, my favourite things are spending time with my friends. I too am blessed with having wonderful friends and count myself very lucky to have them in my life.

I also love discovering new or re-discovering beauty products. I was gifted some Liz Earle goodies and in there was the body wash – I had forgotten how much I love the smell, it is amazing and makes getting out of bed to get ready for work just that little bit easier!

I am also loving NOID Photography serum which I bought on Beauty day – amazing stuff! I have received so many comments on how my skin looks different or have I changed foundation.

My other recent QVC purchase was from your Friday night beauty show the Philip Kingsley Elasticizer, I had tried the original years ago and while it was good I didn’t stick with it, but hearing you describe the fragrance I decided to give it another go, I am so pleased I did! Turns out I am sold by the smell of the product as since I have received the Elasticizer I have been using it religiously! So thank you!!!

I will be looking at the Calm App, unfortunately 2016 has been a bit of a roller-coaster year and I could definitely do with some calm in my life!

Looking forward to your next post.

I often find myself singing ‘do ray me’ from said musical. Though the ‘whiskers on kittens’ do remind me of my favourite cat. So both songs are ‘annoyingly annoying’ which is strange as I don’t think I have ever watched the film in full. Amazing the power that good soundtracks/songs can have over a person!

Love all of your things you love at the moment! You can never go wrong with Liz Earle, love her products and great to hear you now really like the Elasticizer as I’ve heard great things about it.

Sounds like you could definitely benefit from the Calm app if you’ve had a hectic 2016 so far. Hope the year gets a bit calmer for you!
