Well it’s great to be back at QVC and especially fun to be back on air. Many thanks to everyone who has been in touch on the comments section and thank you for the kind welcoming words on Twitter too. They’re really appreciated.
I contemplated putting the image of my MRI scan in this week’s blog to show you what the problem was with my back/neck but I’ve since thought better of it! Anyway, I seem to be on the mend now and I’d like to express huge thanks to the surgeon and wonderful team who took amazing care of me during my stay in hospital. I didn’t have stitches – In fact I had staples which, I’m pleased to say, have now been removed! I’ll spare the details but the operation went well and I just need to be patient during recovery. I won’t be playing tennis just yet! Walking is definitely getting easier and I look forward to the day when I can take my Cairns on their long hikes once again.
Speaking of Cairns… Well, a certain bundle of mischief was in trouble the other week! My other half recently celebrated her birthday and was given a helping hand (paw) in unwrapping one of the gifts! Thankfully we got to the present in time before, no doubt, it would have disappeared for ever in the depths of our garden along with all the missing socks that have gone astray recently : )
On the subject of missing. We obviously mislaid these WHSMITH vouchers for the last 28 years! Is this a record? We’ve just found them and you can see, by the date, they were given to us in 1987! I’m trying to think what we could have bought back then… Well, it was the day of vinyl so maybe a top ten single from the charts perhaps, or a copy or two of the Beano or Dandy! Out of curiosity we sent a tweet to WHSMITH and they replied saying that as they are ‘paper vouchers’ they were still valid. Brilliant, although we’ll hang onto them for a little while yet.
Looking at the schedule I’m thrilled to see I’m launching the Bethlehem Lights Colour Changing 50 LED Light Strand. It’s brilliant and I’ll be on air this Tuesday 10th November at 12 midnight with our wonderful Gill Gauntlet.
Gill has been trying them out at home and they look simply fabulous. They’re so bright and so versatile too. Gill will be sure to tell us all about them. I do hope you can join us.
I’m on Twitter @mecharliebrook if you would like to get in touch. I’m @mecharliebrook or leave a comment below.
See you soon and take care : )
