A late summer visit to Regent’s Park rose garden

Craig enjoys the flowers in the rose gardenHi there,

Well, with this late Indian summer we've enjoyed, I took a trip to one of my favourite places in London, the rose gardens of Regent's Park.

I love Regent's Park, it's a perfect oasis in the middle of London with its fountains and beautiful flower beds and wide open spaces. It also has an amazing outdoor theatre in it, which sadly I didn't get to visit this summer.

A beautiful late summer roseI did manage though to enjoy the last of the roses in the rose garden. Many of them had died back but those that were still alive were blooming and showing off to the world! Hope you like the photos, isn't the light beautiful?

Are there any parks or gardens you enjoy escaping to?

    Hi Craig,
What an amazing show of roses. It could be mid summer. I always think that roses which bloom during the winter are very special.
My favourite park is in Malvern. It has a spectacular backdrop of the Malvern Hills and has natural Malvern water streams flowing through it.
But, what I love most about it are the beautiful Edwardian lamps which line the paths. They inspired C.S.Lewis, who went to school in the town, to create the lampost in `The Lion,The Witch and The Wardrobe`. And when one is walking in the park when it is snows it is easy to imagine it`s Narnia!
    best wishes,
