October has got off to a flying start and it’s been a whirlwind of excitement here at QVC. I love that we can now bring you two hours of live QVC Style with its own Big Deal offer and a live hour of QVC Beauty each week with a special Big Deal and a live hour of QVC Christmas – which was QVC Extra – each week with a Big Deal too! I hope you are enjoying seeing us on your screens as much as we are enjoying you joining us!
It’s not only been busy at work but at home too. We are about to move house. So, my month has been full of sorting out junk and clothes and all those little and not so little bits and bobs that we gather over the years. Luckily I had a little help from my Mum and managed to take four large bin liners full of clothes to the charity shop nearby. We had a proper giggle discovering some old favourites hidden at the back of the wardrobe.
I kept loads of dressing up clothes from years gone by. I found a purple tutu, a bag of ballet shoes, a very kitsch pink cowboy hat and a ridiculous yellow hippy style jacket that I’d had since I was 15. It really is awful but I couldn’t quite part with it.
As a little present for helping me and generally just being a wonderful mum I thought I’d treat her to the Frank Usher super soft scarf. It comes in these gorgeous colours and feels instantly glamorous. They feel incredibly luxurious and so so soft. It is so her as she’s a very stylish lady – she will laugh when she reads this though, as most of the time she is in the garden with wellies on a and trowel in her hand, ha ha!
I have been lucky this month as I got to see quite a lot of the family which is a treat as they are scattered all over the world. My big brother Brodie came to visit which was great and he jumped in straight away to lend a hand with our move.
He and his wife Nicky have been on Landward, a programme on BBC One. They own and run a glass blowing studio in Scotland called Glasstorm. I am really proud of him and he did a fantastic job on the telly!
They have two gorgeous children, my niece Ruby and nephew Angus and here they are with Aunty Eilidh.
This month I also got to try out this brilliant new gadget from Smeg, the hand blender with accessories. I love the retro look and it has so many easy-to-use extras. I found the chopper great for chopping up onion and garlic and herbs. It is easy to use and not at all heavy or cumbersome. Plus it looks great in the kitchen! It comes in four gorgeous colours to choose from.
My best friend Ruby came over one night to help with the packing, but not much went in any boxes as we just chatted all evening! We did feel peckish though and decided to put the blender to use and made some yummy hummus! It was ready in minutes!
Ooh and this week don’t forget to check out the super cool Decadent Collection from Bareminerals. It’s this weeks Big Deal on QVC Beauty. It comes with a beautiful pewter-coloured eye shadow so it’s perfect for this season’s chrome style, and a subtle pretty lipstick. If you have never tried Bareminerals foundation it is so worth trying as it gives a very natural cover and stays on for hours. Plus it comes with this cute and stylish make-up bag! This would be a perfect present for a girlfriend. Make sure it get in quick before they all go!
Thanks so much for reading my blog and please get in touch if you’d like to find out more about our shows or have seen something you love. We love to see your photos of what you have bought so please send them in.
