A great TSV to help me tidy!

Vacuuming with the GtechHi all!

I admit it – I am quite obsessively tidy. My house never has a thing out of place, and in fact hubby often says he's sometimes scared to sit still for too long when I'm in tidying mode, in case he gets shoved into a cupboard/recycling bin too.

I'm lucky enough to have lovely cleaners who come in once a week to give the house a quick going over, because I am away in London so much for work, but in between their visits I still whizz round as often as I can, vacuuming, wiping and plumping!

So, as you can imagine, one of my favourite things about working at QVC is getting to try out new cleaning gadgets. Hence, this short blog is all about a vacuum cleaner (words I never thought I'd write, isn't life funny!).

We're talking about the incredible Gtech AirRam, which is going to be our Today's Special Value item on QVC on Saturday 30th November. I've had one of these for several months now, and when I first saw it I was quite sceptical – it has such simple styling and is so light that I doubted its power and didn't see how it could replace my usual (big brand, more expensive) vacuum cleaner.

Blimey. I was soon eating my words! The first time I switched it on I was instantly amazed by the fact that you don't even need to push it…it almost heads off across the floor by itself, so all you have to do it guide it in the right direction! It is SO powerful that it sucked up my iPad charger which was lying on the floor (I did manage to rescue it though!). And because it's cordless there is none of that faffing around with cables, plugging and unplugging, which means vacuuming the house is SO much quicker.

It is so light too, so carrying it upstairs is really easy. You get about 40 minutes of run time which is more than enough for my house, and there are no bags to empty either which is brilliant. The dirt gets compacted into what look like little hay bales (bizarrely, reminding me of holidays on my aunt's farm in Ireland as a child!) in a little tray in the head of the vacuum cleaner, so you simply lift that out and tip it into the bin.

No mess, no fuss. I can honestly say I have only used my old vacuum cleaner once since the AirRam arrived, and that was only because I'd forgotten to charge up the AirRam. So if you're tempted by the Today's Special Value offer, go for it, you won't be disappointed

Anyway, stay tuned for my next blog, in which I'll be celebrating my first year at QVC, and giving away some goodies!

Have a great week!

Love Jackie x

    Hi Jackie,
I know what you mean about a heavy vacuum cleaner, I have two uprights and one of them is really heavy, awful to carry upstairs. I Like the look of the one you are using, I will have to watch the TSV.
You said you were getting up at 3 a.m. this morning, I did not want to get up at a quarter to seven, would definately not have made 3 a.m., too cold. I expect you get used to the early mornings?
We live out in the Country and we had a hard frost this morning, I do not know what it is about frost and snow, something to do with static I believe, but the dog’s love it, they tear around all excited, my horse was alway’s full of nonsense on a frosty day.
You said it is coming up to a year that you have been with QVC, where has that year gone.
Love the Reindeer, where is the sledge. Hope you enjoyed your Chocolates.
Take care and enjoy your week.

    Hi again Jackie,
Just watched the Video you mention with the Snowman, that is great, could do with a few more of them about, to cheer people up. Really Great.

    Hi Jackie,
Unfortunately I am not even half as clean as you are! I did chuckle when you wrote your hubby is scared to sit down for too long in case he gets put away!
Just seen your Tweet about eating a few of the chocs in your Advent calendar – you’re not the first to do this!
You take care and well done on your nearly 1st anniversary here – the time has flown! You always seem to be having fun on air. Also, you are a very genuine person and that does come across on screen,
    Beth Xx.

    Hi Jean
Yes you do get used to the early mornings, I had to get up ridiculously early for a very long time when I worked on breakfast TV and I actually prefer working early shifts now, I’m not sure what to do with myself on the occasions when I work evenings! Your dogs sounds like great entertainment, what fun! And yes, I am very naughty around chocolate…..I’m a disgrace!

    Hi Beth
You’re very sweet to say such nice things, thank you. Can’t believe it’s been nearly a year….stay tuned for a new blog shortly with a bit of a giveaway! As for the advent calendar…it’s now completely empty. I am SO bad. It was fun though!
    Love Jackie x
