Elemis' resident expert, Keeley Aydin, will also be sharing her beauty expertise. We caught up with Keeley to see what the day in the life of a beauty therapist is like…
"My day begins like clockwork with my resident alarm clock Kaya chatting in his cot telling me it's time to get up at 7am. Downstairs for breakfast it is, while flicking the TV on to see what the Today’s Special Value is – that’s definitely a must!
After breakfast, it's wash time for the little man with his Sensitive Cleansing Wash, getting him clean and playing whilst I jump in the shower. For me it has to be Sharp Shower. If you know me I’m sooo not a morning person but I love the spring in my step this product gives me in the mornings.
Then we head downstairs for an hour of playtime. My mum then arrives 9am to take over as I head off to the salon where I put my therapy head on seeing to my clients and helping them achieve amazing results whilst seeing to the daily running of my business.
After a crazily busy day in the salon, normally seeing at least six to eight clients, I head home at about 6pm just in time to feed Kaya. Then at 7pm it's bath and bottle time. He loves having a bath in his now favourite Skin Nourishing Shower Cream! Having his hair washed in it is also a pleasure for him and he loves lying on his changing mat for a massage in Skin Nourishing Body Cream; he even sits up now so I can massage his back too.
Then after his bottle he goes to bed at 7.45pm. Then it's finally me time! Make-up off, into the shower I jump, deciding if I want to be indulged with Exotic Frangipani Bath & Shower Cream or nourished with Skin Nourishing Shower Cream. Then twice a week I’ll exfoliate and pop on my favourite Tri-Enzyme mask!
Then I’ll slip into my comfys for the evening so I can catch up on emails and start doing some consultations online. I find this really helpful to me and I hope the viewers do too. By 10pm I’m ready for bed and ready for a new day.
I feel I have a great balance now between my home life and work, but I have to say that I still find it hard to say work when you love doing something so much – sometimes it's strange to class it as work."
