I hope you all entered 2012 in good health and spirit!
For all of you who kindly sent Christmas or birthday cards into me, I have endeavoured to reply to all of you who included your addresses – if you chose not to, can I thank you now for your kind wishes.
Well, now we're all back into the full swing of life and into a new exciting year, it's time to look at how realistic our New Year's resolutions were. It's usually around this time that I say to myself 'who were you kidding Franklin, when you made that one!!' I don't think I'm alone, am I?
For that reason I decided to just stay with the usual ones – lose a bit of weight, tone up again, stop saying 'beautiful' so much (Hazel!) and the best one of all – learn to speak Italian. It crops up every year and every year I make a well intentioned start and that's as far as it gets.
I will definitely 'tone up' this year. Some of you may remember a couple of years ago I went on a huge fitness binge and lost 2½ stone and was as fit as when I used to row competitively at College (row, as in a racing boat, not with my wife). Then I squashed a disc in my back and had to stop. I'm fine now but I carried on eating as if I was working out and we all know the rest…
So, what are your resolutions this year? I know some are going to be personal and you may not want to share, but I'd love to hear them otherwise.
Remember that you are far more likely to follow them through if you.ve put them down in writing, albeit on the blog of a nosey shopping TV presenter!
Oh, did I forget to also add that I will try to blog 'once a week' there? I've put it down in writing – let's put the theory to the test!
Take care and stay in touch,
