Ok, so I'm about a week late but I hope all you Mums out there had an enjoyable day last Sunday! My day started quite early – 5.30 to be precise for two reasons. Firstly, Sophie was working an early shift at QVC so needed to be out of the house by 5.45, and secondly, the reason I needed to see her before work, is that Daniel and I had a flight to catch at 9.15 am.
Some of you will remember that Sophie and I did a road trip together a couple of months ago, so in the interest of fairness I owed Dan a bit of my time. He elected to come out to Spain as he hadn't been since the World Cup last June, so although I was out a couple of weeks ago I couldn't really refuse him.
I'm so glad we came, not only has he been fantastic company but we have also had the most glorious weather. I hadn't imagined getting in any swimming as the pool is not heated, but today I braved it and swam 70 lengths – it was just like the middle of summer!! I heard on the news that the weather in the UK has been good too, so I don't feel too guilty telling you about it.
At the airport Dan said I could choose a book as an extra little Mother's Day pressie and I've done so much lazing around I finished it this afternoon! Funny thing, and I had no idea when I selected it, but the majority of the story was set in Italy, near Vicenza, which we namecheck so often when doing our jewellery shows. They even mentioned a place called Marostica, where I did a report from, for QVC about 12 years ago… small world!
Actually I haven't just been lazing, I've done a couple of Pilates workouts and the other day we decided to walk down a very steep set of steps on a cliffside. It was alright on the way down, but boy was it tough climbing back up the 280 steps… yes, I did count them!
Tomorrow we're meeting up with Jaynie Roberts from 'Slim n Lift' for dinner and then home on Saturday, thoroughly refreshed and ready to go.
