Well Christmas is almost upon us and I just wanted to thank everybody who has read and responded to my blog over the past year – I love reading your comments and really appreciate the time you take to keep up a dialogue with me. I’ve finished at QVC for Christmas (I’ll be seeing a lot of you over New Year), but it was a hectic few days.
After my shift on Friday, Sophie met me at work and we went to Ali Keenan’s gathering. It was lovely to meet up with some of my presenter colleagues out of work and also to see Kathy’s husband Olly, who took the cover photo of me for my first book, ‘One Hundred Lengths of the Pool’.
A good evening was had by all and a big thank you to Ali for hosting it.
I had the weekend off, which gave me the opportunity to go and buy the Christmas tree with Chris and our daughter, Sophie. The afternoon was then spent decorating it in this year’s themed colours of red and gold.
So far,Wilfie has been fairly well behaved with it, only knocking a couple of baubles off, but that could all change when his brother Milo arrives to stay over Christmas!
Monday was the first of our presenter Christmas lunches and, although I didn’t manage to get any photos, you may well have seen the video of Anne Dawson wearing her ‘Secret Santa’ netball hat and us all trying to score goals – we were useless and I have to say the waiter was not amused!
I love my secret Santa present! I had spotted the Famous Five book in WH Smith and almost bought it for myself so was really chuffed when I opened up my parcel – I’m looking forward to relaxing and reading them properly over Christmas.
By the way, if you are expecting a Kindle or an electronic device that supports the Kindle app, check out the blog on my website for information on a fabulous post-Christmas deal. For everyone who is signed up to my newsletter already, there is also the chance to win a little prize – well, it is Christmas.
Once again, thanks to those of you who have sent in cards – I’ve done my best to reciprocate when I’ve had return addresses.
Speaking of which, I came across this in my desk drawer when I was having a sort out. It is the first ever QVC Christmas card from 1993 – I wonder how many of you recognise the original presenters?
The other part of the attic room will house my office desk where I may well do my writing in 2017, away from the hustle and bustle of the house.
I hope you have all enjoyed shopping with QVC this year and, if you intend to tune in on Christmas Day, here’s a heads up of our Charlie Bears Today’s Special Value.
It is a limited edition Isabelle Lee bear created especially for QVC customers and there are only five hundred to go round – cute eh?
I hope you will enjoy Christmas, be you surrounded by people or raising a glass on your own, and I look forward to sharing more with you on here in 2017.
