So here was are all present and correct in September, and still with sunshine vibes in the air… yippee!
Talking of sunshine, we were privileged to have it in our beloved North Yorkshire when we spent a short week enjoying our family cottage, bought in 1974 by my parents and one of my most special places. Luckily that week it wasn’t let out to the many holidaymakers who come and enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the Yorkshire Dales so we could take it over for the week.
The sunshine was such a treat as weirdly we generally bring rain whenever we are away! Though this year perhaps I can say we’ve changed the habit as we sure had sun in Turkey and not a drop of rain in Yorkshire too… happy happy. The Dales is a beauty no matter what the weather and we had lovely times spent at Bolton Abbey, The Forbidden Corner and Yockenthwaite (made even nicer as the good old internet was not available so normal play resumed, good old fashioned outdoor fun!)
A return to QVC for me coupled with school starting this week means the lack of routine comes to a halt and it’s a knuckle down get organised time. The scoot around to replace school uniforms that did fit on the last day of term but doesn’t now… just six weeks on! Joe in particular appears to be growing in his sleep and each morning it’s like greeting a stranger! It’s a matter of weeks before his 14th Birthday and the hormones are flying around, bless him. Let’s hope we navigate safely through this next stage…
This morning the sad news that Jessie, one of our lovely chickens, has died was delivered by Maddie, though it was a little disturbing to say the least to come into the kitchen and see… a chicken in the oven. I was quickly reassured, but seriously, talk about bad timing! Better ensure I do a LOT of veg. Jessie was part of our pop star gang with Pixie (Lott- RIP) and we now have Beyonce and Adele still “performing” so to speak!
Maddie already has designs on my sister-in-law’s new ducks and is pleading with Daddy to add to our feathered friends with these and some chicks she can name after the Kardashians. Oh how quickly they move on!
School is back this week and I have Tom starting his final school year, don’t even say a word. Joe heading to year 9, this is where it ramps up my son! And Maddie moves into Year 8. Let’s hope it’s a successful and happy school year for all.
I am really looking forward to my show this Tuesday 6th at 11am with Julien Macdonald. Julien is a leading British fashion designer, coveted by countless stars and celebrities who choose his designs for some of their most important public engagements. British Fashion Designer of the year, an Olivier Award nomination and an OBE for services to the fashion industry undoubtedly confirm his status within British fashion. Now those of you who have read my blogs along the way know how much I love my home and creating a special interior for this house we renovated has been a joy. I have always had a penchant for something that little bit different, spending lots of time and money!!! (sssssshhh don’t tell Dan) to achieve my wishes, so I’m going to love all the glamour of Julien’s Home Designs for QVC. Statement pieces, designs with that ‘wow factor’, all magnificent talking points for your home will be in the show.
If you have already “done” your bedroom and can’t quite make the space for something as spectacular as his statement headboard, or can you?, then these beautiful boxes would be a brilliant idea, either the gold-tone on the left or the silver-tone on the right. I for one will be deciding which to go for as they make such a lovely accent for any room really and a bit of sparkle never goes amiss in my world!
I hope you can join me with the promise of Julien’s divine Welsh accent as an added treat! I shall see you bright and breezy on the Morning shows early this week and with Flora Mare at 11am on Monday too..
There is lots ahead of us on QVC this coming month, some new Fashion Labels (I loved some Betty & Co designs and was wearing a lovely easy top on my Skechers show. There are some beautiful jewellery designs for Jewellery month (do check out the lovely looks for September on our website) We have launched the Breast Cancer Care Diamonique ribbon pin and Ali Keenan’s very special Hope designs… all wonderful jewellery, and you are helping to make a difference and support Breast Cancer Care, an amazing and important charity, with every purchase you make. I’m proud to say that with your help we have raised over 5.5 million pounds so far since we have supported the charity, let’s see how much we can raise this year.
Right, off to replenish pencil cases, name uniforms and… do my roots! Oh the glamour. See you super soon,
Love Claire xxx
