Staying cool and refreshed in scorching heat

I wanted to give you a first look at the new Liz Earle Eau de Parfum which will be revealed as the August Beauty Pick of the Month. I did an unboxing and first thoughts video for you. Will you give it a try?

This weekend is MADE BIRMINGHAM I’m getting very excited, chiefly because I don’t know what to expect other than some of the music artists I already know. But what’s brilliant is that I’ll be discovering many more artists that I don’t know. I hope the weather holds up. If you’re a music lover and want to enjoy a day out in Central Birmingham with some terrific music, your last chance to get tickets is here .

Made Birmingham

Phew what a scorcher. I’ve been keeping hydrated with my fab new BKR glass bottle. My colour Gloss is a cute peachy look. They launch on Alison’s two hour Beauty School show this Wednesday night 27th July at 8pm. Although you might see them online earlier in the day  – with a special version for QVC with a heart in the middle.

I’ve been out enjoying the weather with my pal Ann, we grabbed some lunch in Richmond. And also back home in Brum in our rather overgrown garden in my Birkenstocks and at the brilliant independent beer festival, The Birmingham Beer Bash. Hats off to Dave Shipman and his team of dedicated volunteers who make it extra special. Hi to all the amazing brewers I met: Dave and Ann from Hardknott Brewery, Rob from Black Jack Beers in Manchester, Gwen from the great local brewery that is Sacre Brew, the guys and gals from Fixed Wheel in Blackheath near Birmingham and many many more! Of course my big faves Brewdog, Purity  and Thornbridge were represented, as well as rising stars Siren Craft Brew and Four Pure. The street food was pretty amazing too from Original Patty Man to Andy Low & Slow to Becky’s Bhajis there was something for everyone and a lovely easy-going atmosphere. Fingers crossed it will return again next year!

Here’s some pics me with the lovely Jen, from the fabulous independent café Cherry Reds, along with our pal Krishan from Stirchley Wines (which sells an excellent selection of UK and international beers in Brum) and my lovely hubby Austen.

Hi Marv, just seen your ‘reveal’ for Liz Earle’s new eau du Parfum.. you do make me laugh and we will miss your personality! You remind me of one of my best friends ( also in Birmingham) looking forward to this beauty pick of the month as I tend to stick to light florals but this may be a change for future evenings out! x
