Father’s Day, video editing and my favourite OPI colours

This past weekend I was working at QVC and helping with the social media side of things on the no!no! show. It was great fun and it’s been really brilliant to get to use the no!no! and see how it works. So far so good, my arms are hair-free at the moment, of course time will tell. It’s so important when using the no!no! to use it consistently and over a long period of time. So I will keep going and let you know further down the line how I am getting on with it. So far so good, if this can reduce visits to the salon then that would help me out a lot!

I came back that evening to take my husband and the kids out for dinner for Father’s Day. The kids were pretty well behaved which was a bonus, you never know how a four year old and a one year old are going to act in a restaurant! Fortunately Ivy only threw some of her dinner on the floor and not all of it!

Tilda had made Fred a beautiful card from her and Ivy and they gave him a lovely book about cycling which he loves.

The day ended with them climbing all over him at home.

This week I’ve been catching up on things for my YouTube Channel  with my friend Anna, who I make it with. Some of you may have seen my intro video where I talk about it. It’s all about life as a mummy and we are part of the Channel Mum Network. It’s an amazing gang of wonderful mums who are sharing their tips and their experiences in everything from nappies to school days.

Anna and I had a few days of editing and filming some more videos for our channel. Do check it out if it’s of interest to you. It’s all very laid back and not about telling people how to parent, it’s simply just chats about various parenting topics. It can all be a bit overwhelming raising kids so it’s so nice to have a community of mums all sharing their stories so you don’t feel quite so alone!

As you can see from the picture we use Macbooks which you can buy from QVC. There are lots of fab laptops out there and from QVC but iMovie on Macbook is the editing software I use to make our videos. It’s so easy once you get the basic gist of it, I taught myself and now I’m really quick at producing our videos.

I’ve also been having a great time trying out all the amazing colours in the OPI 20th Anniversary set. I haven”t made it through all the colours yet as they last really well so I don’t want to keep changing them. My favourites so far though are definitely ‘Hot & Spicey’ & ‘Hey Baby’.

So that’s been my week, how has yours been? Have you bought anything really great from QVC recently? Let me know so I can check it out too.

Katie – two quick questions: I’m thinking of getting a Mac Book to launch a blog later this year. How do you get photos onto it (do you have to have an iPhone?) and what anti-virus do you need? Salespeople tell me you don’t need anti-virus on Apple products but I’d feel uneasy if I didn’t have it. Can you advise – would be most grateful.
