The weather was so poor in London last weekend that my gardening shows with Richard Jackson on both Saturday and Sunday were broadcast from inside the studio and not from our lovely new garden set. Strangely, as if by royal command the sun did put in an appearance later on Sunday afternoon during our little street party at home. Whilst I was working with Richard in the morning, my neighbours were busy erecting gazebos and tents for the barbecues in front gardens in true British fashion, determined to not let the weather ruin our Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations.
There were short bursts of sun between monstrous thunder clouds that lasted on and off for about two hours and I was out there chatting away with my neighbours throughout. I popped back into my house to check on the dogs (and the test match score) and glimpsed myself in the hallway mirror and noticed that I had caught the sun down the right side of my face – it was already beginning to “ping”, I couldn’t believe it ! It only goes to show that we should take precautions with the sun all the time – because of the thunder clouds I hadn’t bothered to put on any Ultrasun, and had only considered putting a rain coat on.
So I will be retelling this riveting story again when I present an hour of Ultrasun this Friday with the lovely Abi Cleeve at 4pm in which we’ll be showcasing our Ultrasun Today’s Special Value collection. Ironically I had it sitting inside my house during the street party! Be prepared and love your skin!
I was also given a sample to try out of a lovely retro-inspired DAB radio Bluetooth Speaker from MyVQ – It’s the Hepburn II and I’ll be launching it as a Today’s Special Value offer with the delightful Gabrielle Bradshaw at midnight tonight. It’s hilarious because I left the box on the kitchen table after coming in late from The Q to awake the next morning with it all unpacked and posing on a radiator cover in the kitchen.
Tracey explained she took one look at it and couldn’t believe her luck! “Everyone’s got to have one in their kitchen at the moment – they’re in all the homestyle magazines” she trilled. Yes, she does have quite a high voice! To be be fair to her two of her friends have both commented on how FAB it looks and the great price are we selling them for! Well all will be revealed at midnight on Wednesday – I can tell you that it has a really lovely tonal sound quality and despite it’s retro appeal, utilises the latest DAB crystal clear radio and can play any music wirelessly from your bluetooth enabled devices. It does come with an AC power adapter but, as part of our special offer, we will also be including a high capacity battery to ensure full portability. In a range of great colours too!
I thought I’d round off with a photo of Ellie with the words of a song ringing in my ears… altogether now! “How much is that doggy in the window…”
Till next time stay protected and retro…
