It’s a weekend of Spring excitement and as I write there is sunshine warming my cheeks and Gus is chilling at my feet after our lovely walk. I closed my eyes and breathed as we walked home up the lane. I think the first proper breathe I’ve done in about 10 days after all the excitement and emotions of THE wedding!!! I am just awaiting approval of the photos from the bride before I can share my blog! I daren’t do it without checking athough I think she looks utterly beautiful in ALL of the pictures, so pretty, radiant and full of happiness. Whilst I’m waiting (the happy couple are entitled to a honeymoon of course!) I thought I’d have a little chatter with you about this weekend.
As the weather has changed Dan’s phone hasn’t stopped ringing and he’s up to his ears in quotes (which is of course brilliant and we’re certainly not complaining) it really does seems to be the time everyone is thinking about the garden.
Dan, my husband, is a landscaper and in my opinion is absolutely brilliant and I’m lucky enough to have a gorgeous garden to prove it! Even with a gorgeous garden there is the inevitable maintenance however and clearing and preparation are all vital. A bit of dedicated work the other weekend has resulted in a view to admire once again (I’m in my lounge with a perfect vista!) Perhaps it is not a whole re-landscape of your garden that is needed but just a freshen up and a bit of inspiration to get you back on track.
Well, this Saturday on QVC we have a whole day dedicated to gardening with everything to inspire and excite you across the day, with new choices and bestsellers. I shall be with our Gardening Experts at 4pm and I’m wondering should I wear a hat for Richard Jackson’s Garden Party At 2 pm??!!! How lovely to be invited! And yes you all are also!
Our fantastic Today’s Special Value will be a recliner (pictured above), a brilliant and adjustable chair/ lounger that we can look forward to relaxing in and actually appreciating our gorgeous gardens! I for one have spent Easters on the beach before, so it’s a good bit of timing by QVC I feel to help us to be prepared. We have just ordered an outdoor sofa so we will be ready for the good weather rather than have it creep up on us …how many times do we look back IN the summer and realise we’ve had it already! So let’s be good Brownies and Scouts and….BE PREPARED!
Dan said there are lots of jobs to be cracking on with, scrubbing decking and patios are a big one but rewarding though surely a pressure washer would be sensible! and for the transformation of so many surfaces, decks, stone, roofs, ornaments (the list is endless) Wet and Forget is incredible.
I’m more about the lovely things I want to see in the garden, so I will leave all the maintenance to him I think!
Now I found EZ Flowers by Richard Jackson I thought this would be great to sprinkle in and rejuvenate the wild meadow I have around my Gypsy Caravan, I loved the pretty mix of flowers especially so as they attract bees and butterflies. Having used some gorgeous flowers for Mummy’s wedding I spotted Gypsophila bare root on QVC’s website , again bees and butterflies love it and along with The Bride Exochorde for borders and pots it will keep me happily reliving the wedding for months to come!
I wrote about the Beauty Pick of the Month for March in my last blog Philip Kingsley’s Elasticizer for stronger and healthier hair , well I think the beauty and gardening buying teams must have chatted as …. let’s not forget the Gardening Pick of the Month – Richard Jackson’s Premium Plant Food! Stronger and healthier plants and flowers oh and vegetables too!! So regardless of the size of your garden…the quality and size of what you have in it can be so greatly improved…see size does matter on some occasions! (free P&P on both and super prices too so a perfect opportunity to try)
I have had the pleasure of testing out a new set of Cook’s Essentials pans over the last week or so …I’m totally au fait with their brilliance as we have been cooking with them for years now. This set is going to be our Today’s Special Value on Sunday 13th March and the purple non-stick has been delightful to use.
These pictures below should be titled..” How many cooks….” Maddie and her girlies rustling up pancakes after a rather late night sleepover …..
And these pictures show how the clean up after cooking eggs is child’s play!…..I even sound like a child I think, or is that wishful thinking as another birthday looms!
All my children are now flexing their cooking skills at school and we are trying to persuade them that it doesn’t need to stop there….PLEASE cook at home too! This set really does make the chore (sorry that’s me speaking!!) of churning out food so much more pleasurable, though I cannot say it has helped me turn into Mary Berry overnight ..my chocolate Swiss roll last Sunday was a disaster and I really really tried to follow the recipe properly…still it was ultimately edible and I made a creation out of it!!!
What’s the phrase, don’t blame the tools……..!
So hope to catch you this weekend at 2pm and 4pm on Saturday’s Your Spring Garden and on Sunday at 10am with Kipling, 1pm with Taya and 2pm where Simon Brown will show you all the brilliance of the Cook’s Essentials pan set (no cooking from me I promise!) Next chatter will be ……wonderful weddingness!
Lots of love,
