I’ve just returned to work after a lovely three days in Cornwall. My mum is a big fan of the ITV drama Doc Martin (so am I, actually!) which is set in beautiful Port Isaac, so for Christmas my sister Loraine and I gave mum the gift of a few days there. We had SUCH a good time. We always laugh a lot when we’re together, but we honestly never seemed to stop on this trip. It was great fun spotting all the Doc Martin locations – here’s a picture of me and mum outside the shop used as Mrs Tishell’s pharmacy, and outside the good doctor’s house. I half expected him to come out, dog at his heels, and tell us to go away in that delightfully grumpy way of his!
We also travelled around, visiting Tintagel, Rock and Padstow too. I love being by the sea (I spent much of my childhood living not far from the coast in the west of Ireland) and the view from our hotel in Port Isaac was just stunning, even in the wild and windy weather we had while we were there. I could have sat by the window all day, just looking at it.
Anyway, back to work now! I want to say thank you for the gorgeous comments on my last blog, where I talked about my upcoming 50th birthday. So many kind words, you are so lovely!
I also mentioned that I’m going to be trying some new anti-ageing gadgets and products in the run-up to that, and the first is the Prai ageless throat device and serum. I do love a beauty gadget and this is pretty clever. It uses something called iontophoresis technology – basically the serum and the device both have a positive charge, so they repel each other, which in practice means they constantly push against each other when they come into contact, driving the product into the skin. That sounds a bit dramatic, but all you feel is a gentle, quite soothing vibration.
I’ve been trying it for about ten days and my neck feels wonderfully smooth and I’m sure my jawline looks more defined. Definitely worth a try if your neck is a problem area. Recommended!
In my next blog I’m going to be talking about Fillerina, a home wrinkle filler kit. I was very excited about this when I first saw it at the QVC Beauty Bash in January, but then noticed it has very mixed reviews on our website, so approached it with some caution. However, after a bit of trial and error, and with a few little tweaks to the application technique I have already seen seriously good results, so much so that I’m about to re-purchase. I’ll tell you my tips for using this next time.
I hope all is good in your world. I always love to hear from you, so do get in touch, either by leaving a comment below this blog or by saying hello on Twitter (I’m @jackiekabler).
See you soon.
Love Jackie x
