Well, here it is the first blog of 2017 so may I wish you a very Happy New Year!
I am really excited about 2017, I know that for many 2016 was a very upside down year but I personally had a wonderful year (as you would have seen in my highlights blog last week) so if this year is as good, I will be happy and blessed.
How was your Christmas and New Year? I had a very busy Christmas as I was working all the way through the period (apart from Christmas Day of course) and as you can see Christmas Eve at QVC was great fun.
We even made a fun video with the crew – such a giggle:
I also had Christmas Eve late lunch/early dinner with my friend and colleague April, it’s a little tradition of ours and always lovely.
Talking of friends I also saw my friend Ian over Christmas, we have known each other 20 years and as he lives in the USA now I hardly ever see him. I rather like this pic of us showing the 20 years friendship, where did the time go?!
Then for Christmas Day itself I was with my family in Bristol, my sister cooked and was an amazing host and of course I got to hang out with my beautiful nieces all day. They even made me a cake in the shape of a Christmas pudding, I was so touched.
I also had some time with my mum and dad on Christmas Day and Boxing Day which was wonderful. Ruby loved her Cozee Home cat blanket I bought for her, she was all snuggled up in it by the evening.
Then I was off work over New Year and went on a retreat in Brecon, a wonderful way to end the year and a chance to meet up with old friends and make new ones. It was in a place called Buckland Hall, the most beautiful setting.
So, now of course it’s all back to normal (which in many ways feels rather a relief!) and we can start looking ahead. Do you have any hopes and dreams for 2017?
I don’t make resolutions as such but I do have some intentions for the year: renovate my flat, cut down on sugar, drink less alcohol (and more water!), over-schedule myself less and make more time for yoga, nature and quality time with family and friends. I already exercise a lot and that will continue with my dancing, pole dancing and circuit training. I do need to stretch and relax my body a little more though.
To kick things off I am doing a sugar-free and alcohol-free January, so far so good and I will let you know how I get on as the month progresses. Wish me luck, you know what a sweet tooth I have!
Here’s Claire and I sipping our smoothies and toasting QVC’s #freshstart initiative:
So, whatever your intentions for 2017, I wish you well and look forward to chatting to you through this blog as the year progresses.
Big New Year hugs,
